Hey boys, I'm hoping i haven't commented too late and you've started running it already but you HAVE TO change the cam gear to a later blacktop gear. The silvertop gear is 5 degree advanced and will close the valves earlier leading to cylinder pressure building quicker thus causing headgasket issues and the turbo spec pistons don't have valve reliefs either so the valves will contact the pistons due to them opening earlier with no where to go but into the crown
ОтветитьPart 3 ?
ОтветитьHola saludos me quede con una duda cuanto es lo que sabresale el piston sobre el block
ОтветитьSlapping that piston 😂 engine porn for sure
ОтветитьAwesome thanks
ОтветитьRica etsem altyazı seçeneklerine Türkçe dil seçeneği ekleyebilir misiniz ? Sizi anlamak ve takip etmek istiyorum !!!
ОтветитьI always love when John is on. He's just such a funny, chill, knowledgeable dude.
Ответитьdidn't know that motor was a "IDI" style, didn't know they even made them in recent years.
ОтветитьYes!! JH Hilux!!
ОтветитьI have a spare silvertop in my shed but I don't think I'll ever have the cash to rebuild it, it's a dream tho, thanks for sharing the knowledge, I can always refer back to this if I ever get there !
ОтветитьWhen I rebuilt my Silvertop TD42, I had a fair bit of difficulty getting the injection pump timing correct so will be interested to see how you guys go when you get to that point
ОтветитьFunny piston crown design by Nissan 😂
ОтветитьKeen for a 1hz-1hdt rebuild/conversion
ОтветитьMy phone overheated while watching this video😂😂
ОтветитьI'm from Canada and I have a TD27, I'm having reliability issues and I cant seem to find a good source for quality parts for these engines. any tips? I'm on my second head gasket and second set of pistons now.
ОтветитьHello, one of my next works is the reconstruction of a pump and injectors of an atmospheric td42 mounted on a forklift.
when I prepare a td42 or an rd28t I never put 12mm head.
There are other solutions

Fantastic relaxed communication!!! I like it. Plus this is VERY encouraging. Am in the middle of building a turbo spec motor out of a N/A 94 blacktop and an old cooked turbo motor I bought years ago sitting in the back of the shed. A lot of the parts were in very good condition except for two pistons + the block is cracked in each parent bore. ATM it is just a pile of parts sitting on the floor waiting for the machine shop to complete the work I cant do.
One other thing is the TD42 Turbo has a different oil pump that pumps more oil, bolts straight in.
Hey guys my turbo diesel didn’t have core plugs in te holes under the oil cooler might be a turbo blocks thing
ОтветитьJohn the ledged
ОтветитьThe precombustion chambers are also known for cracking and falling out too, makes a decent mess of a piston crown
ОтветитьThis engine is too big!
4.2 litres??
And it still needs a turbo. 😕
No " Shorts" !!! unsubbed !!!
ОтветитьIt's an engineered distance from a fastener hole or feature to the edge of the part.
ОтветитьNa silver tops are kings my old gq with 500thous on the clock was running 50 psi with a massive turbo massive 180cc 12mm fuel pump bigger injectors had 2 bad engines one had a good block one had a good head got a new head gasket and slappped the 2 together and that motor was bulletproof couldn’t kill and I tried red line every gear she was a unicorn best engine ever
ОтветитьSurely you guys rebuild a Sohc falcon motor next, for not apparent reason, except they’re cheap and strong, atleast it’d be a good spare when the old td splits in half
ОтветитьА как же замер выступания поршня над блоком?По этому параметру подбирается толщина прокладки гбц.
ОтветитьHi, Just Curios if Supercheap still sponsor the Channel ? I am looking to buy Toolpro Battery ratchet set and like to support / supporters if ya know what i mean.
ОтветитьThis is the best thing to come out as I’m about to start my td42t rebuild
ОтветитьAwesome build! I just did my factory TD42T GQ head. Did egr delete and a port and polish. Made a huge difference. Did you install new head bolts? And what spec did you set the valve lash, love the forged rods. Can't wait to see it live.
ОтветитьThis is awesome
Ответить'make the noise.......'
ОтветитьExtremely Great content we do need a few more stubs around the workshop as we can’t be dehydrated building TeeeDeee’s
ОтветитьBe interested in seeing some wpc coating in the old girl
ОтветитьYou can also install pre-frozen liners with a sacrificial fan clutch as the alloy face fits nicely and the mounting flange gives a perfect spot to hit ... apparently
ОтветитьWhy are there bollocks on the pistons?
ОтветитьThat beats the old fergy/Perkins in situ rebuilds with using the welder to remove the liners and freezing the ones to drop them in.
ОтветитьJust get an FTE
Ответить110% recommend jh hilux he has built me 100+ pumps and never had a problem
ОтветитьWhy do the valve relief look like cut off d and b.
ОтветитьSo.....muscle in for the show....Woody got a woody?!?
ОтветитьI've blown up 3x TD42s. The last one I rebuilt into a 5.7LS1.
ОтветитьBigger squirters are always better.
ОтветитьBunch of good eggs on this channel
ОтветитьThe only thing hotter than a turbo TD42 is that new chick on Built Not Bought.
Ответить"Gone to Fernwood to do yoga" 😂😂😂
ОтветитьWhy didn't you just use the factory conrods , or was it because of different pin sizes ?
ОтветитьI always love watching these type of builds. Al always explains it in a really good way. Gus is lucky to have such a cool Dad! Love your work guys
ОтветитьWill awesome to see a 1hzt turbo engine build with the next one
