You can make a lot of money if you unlock the "Mr Hands" accomplishment with your horse. It affects your health big-style but your horse will totally love you for it. (Male horses only).

There are quite a few treasures that re-spawn. For example, the Limpany gold bar is collectable at least three times. You must close the box when you leave. The wreaked train at the bottom of a gorge is doable at least twice. Some are doable unlimited times; you just ride away and return after a few minutes and the treasure has respawned. I am on PC platform (Windows 11 Pro) running on a Mac Pro Desktop Tower.

*Will not buy ANY stolen carriage. I once acquired a for transporting prisoners that didn't have any prisoners, drove it all the way out to Emerald Ranch from the other state where I got it, he told me to get it out of there because there's nothing he can do with it (despite once in a while complaining about the carriage and saying it would be better if chopped up and sold as firewood). Also, I don't know about it being the best means of getting money. For minimal honor loss, probably faster than gambling, but most I could get from carriages is $40, even if I stole it just as it's passing the barn or when the fast travel guy at the ranch isn't around his stagecoach, so I didn't have to "ride it like I stole it" to get there sooner.

For the trains, could just go to the tunnels like the one in Grizzlies East just west of Roanoke Valley, jump on the train from above rather than from the side like with your water tower option, and rob them there in Ambarino where the law won't show up because they don't have any unless you have a bounty there already to have bounty hunters come after you.

I've been able to rob trains without a bounty or having to deal with the Law at all.

Robbing the trains with the people and blowing up the safes while also robbing bounty hunters and police youll practically be rich as hell

If you woried about honour greate fish or donate 20 dollars to the camp for some reason 20 dollars gives bonus honour so donate max 20 dollars at a time donating 20 is the same as donating a thousand

if you dont like eating canned meals, cigarretes, tobacco, etc. sell them in any store, it isnt that much a profit but its better than throwing them out (as i do, as i dont like them consuming my core).
ALSO, whenever you get into a shootout, and theres a lot of bodies, please, loot every single one of them, it may not seem like much, but every little bit counts.

Also in the epilogue you can find around $100 in each of the four del lobo hideouts each time they respawn

I'm early in the game and I keep running into things I can't get around stealing carriages. Is there no reverse button? I've stolen three nice ones and had to leave them. 🥴🤦‍♂️

And all this time I just been using the Fast Travel to head to each town
run into each store and Rob the register before the witness can alert the authorities
and then use fast travel and head to the next town and do it again

I ended up making $9,000 in a few days of doing that😂

There are two npcs that will buy stolen horses later on in the game and they give you around $25 for one. So it can make you some good money too.

lol bountys are no fuss just spend all your cash then get in a fist fight and spend a night in the tank lol.

Number 1 source of income that I have found is this one chest that has a large jewelry bag, miracle tonic, premium cigarettes, and coin purse. This chest respawns the loot all you gotta do is leave the area and come back. It's near Wallace station if you take the train tracks south past the first bridge and take a left on the road just before the second bridge there is a turned over wagon on the corner at the end of the road, chest is inside. To make the loot respawn just ride back to Wallace station and then back to the chest and it is respawned, gets you 50$ for every large jewelry bag sold to the fence.

Poker is a terrible way to earn money. I play in St. Denis with the $5 buy in and often bust out 4-5 players in one sitting, but that only earns you $30 for an hour of game play. I can get at least $150 in the same time period for shooting perfect alligators (one skin on your horse, one on your secondary horse, one in your arms, and 10 pieces of big game meat) and catching a lunker fish (break it down at campfire and sell about 3-5 flaky fish meat) outside of St. Denis and running back in and selling them, and then repeating it. Same amount of time spent.

Its not recommended you buy horses and guns anyway because there so readily available for free, so if you want to keep your honour up for discounts, don't bother and make more money being a bad guy, plus its more fun

I know I'm late as fuck but most of the carriage drivers won't be hostile so you can just stand on it while moving and they'll eventually run away from you leaving the cart

all these a decent methods. best way i’ve found how to make good money is the gold bar in limpany. it will respwan after 1 or 2 in game days, no glitch required and that goes the same for any gold nuggets or cash, large jewelry bags, ect that you come across in the map
the only tricky part is finding and remembering where they are, you could always drop a marker once you do and that will help

Tip: If you have the honor rank 5 (-25% discount) buy the most expensive horse in the stable. Train the horse to level 4 and sell it. Repeat.
$1250 horse = $250 profit
$950 horse = $190 profit
$450 horse = $90 profit
$150 horse = $30 profit

Get the oil wagons they pay $50 each time you turn one in

Doing jack hall gang treasure hunt is definitely easiest way to kickstart money in early game. Couple thousand smakaroons for free

Not that many people will see this but a rly good way to earn money it's sound kinda dumb but from having a bounty. Bounty hunters tend to have a pre good amount of money and valuables that you can sell for decent money

1. Get good weapons, such as Carcano Riffle, fully upgraded and fast shooting pistols or revolvers and learn how to use them.

2. Get some bounty on you in Emerald Ranch

3. Shoot rifle or sleep to attract bounty hunters. Kill them all from a distance using a sniper scoop (there's perfect hills for that just near the emeralad ranch) with dead eye, once all bounty hounters are dead (they won't give you negative karma points, you are just defending yourself, as long as you don't shoot horses and dogs), the dogs will stop chasing you and escape (hence you dont have to kill them and won't lose any honor points). If you miss some of them, as sometimes they separate into two or three subgroups, just get near to them on your horse and shoot them all with pistols (also fully upgraded, express ammo). That was the longest sentence ever.

4. Loot them all, go sell the stuff to the emerald ranch, repeat. Also, it's the most entertaining way if you like shooting and you better like shooting if you play that game. Each bounty hounter has around 2-4 USD on them + lots of sellables like golden watches etc.

Once you acquire a small fortune, you easily pay that bounty off. Should you lose some honor points in the process, they can be regained just by saying hello to everyone all the time in Saint Denis.

If you can't shoot them all fast, play tetris or the sims.

I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but it is useful info. If you managd to steal an oil wagon, you can take it to Emerald Ranch for 50 bucks. Got lucky, and managed to steal one yesterday. Probably the best way of making money.

If you want a good way to rob a train take a ticket to the tunnel near annesbearg mask up and stop the train no bounty no law

Extra tip if you don’t care about honour you can rob the people come back kill them and loot there corpses

Personally I don't like bounties too much. The earlier one where cool, good money for reasonable work. After a while though I was starting to kill just as many people as I would in a main quest story shoot out. Worst one was this guy I think his bounty was like 25 bucks, he even started out coming quietly. Then suddenly he had 30 people chasing and shooting me, had to kill them all.
When I am doing side quests/money making it is so I can breathe between the major beats of the main quests, not get into another cinematic shoot out. Shooting the lion was more relaxing than that bounty.
