You can use a Meter Valve to fuel your rockets precise ammounts and avoid the loopback and wasting power pumping it back in.
The meter valve can be automated with a Counter, a NOT gate, an AND gate and a Filter gate.
Hook the meter valve signal to the Counter, the Counter to the NOT, and the NOT to input 1 of the AND.
The meter valve signal also goes into the Filter, set to 0.2s and the Filter goes to input 2 of the AND.
the AND output goes to the Valve meter reset.
This should be enough to control up to 10x50 = 5000 kg of fuel going through. I also know a setup to make an any digit counter, but 5000kg should be enough.
To get precise ammounts of fluid through, you need to do some math. Divide the total ammount of fuel you need by a whole number, 1-10. Set the result (has to be lower than 500kg) in the meter valve and the whole number as the counter limit. The valve accepts centesimals.
Example: I want to build the heaviest, farthest reaching rocket the game allows (base game): Hydrogen engine, 1 cargo bay (or 10 research modules), needs 5 fuel tanks and 2 for oxydizer according to ONI assistant. 4399kg of each LOX and LH2.
4399/9 = 488.89 kg (you can also divide by 10, I just want an excuse to demonstrate the counter at work)
Pause the game, set 488.89 kg on the valve and reset and the counter to 9. The valve will reset itself 9 times, giving you exactly 4400.01 kg.
this video just shows that I need lots of late game materials I dont have access to or in large amounts so I really should be using something else
ОтветитьYou can get liquid oxygen by using hydrogen as medium - technical you can make liquid hydrogen by limiting pipe input and supercooling gass hydrogen
ОтветитьI use the door temp control all the time when maintaining a minimum temp, or keeping too much heat from adding too fast, but don't know why I never thought about it when cooling like this. Really glad that I came to watch a video on something that I thought I had "figured out already."
ОтветитьMy insulated pipe (ceramic) always broken, when transfer to rocket…
ОтветитьWhy use diamond window tiles, wouldn't a metal tile provide much better thermal transfer?
Ответитьwhat did you set your atmo sensor for the Bottomless Rodriguez set up? im a bit confused about the automation
ОтветитьI'm curious what the settings for the atmo sensors on the Bottomless Rodriguez are. I'm trying to use the design right now, but not really understanding what to dial them to without causing a problem.
ОтветитьDo the liquid pumps need to be made of a special material?
ОтветитьSo what if I continue the oxygen pipe past the point of vent in a cooler, just like you did, but instead of looping it back I'd just add another vent in space to dump everything. That way when the pipe and cooling tank is full, oxygen will just continue going in to space. Wouldn't this be simpler than all the "bottomless" rodriguez logic? Am I missing something here?
ОтветитьIt works! OMG it works! Yeeeeeeeeeeeees! I smell Temporal Tear. LOL!!! Dude, thanks a whole lot! You are amazing! The design is so perfect. It's an insult to my ordinary brain. LOL! Puts everyone to shame. You nailed it! Really, I cannot thank you enough! Hey, Klei! Hire this gentleman! He so deserves it!
ОтветитьGood advices here. I managed to build both but kept running into issues first with overcooling (so I added a cold injector) and then with breaking pipes.
This tutorial helped with the pipes breaking since I don't have enough insulation to reach the rockets
Is it possible to build a mining rocket with large petroleum engine having 22 tiles range? (Spaced out).
ОтветитьBro. What even I remember this game from so long ago and I had troubles just starting. And ur saying there’s different places to go. F me.
ОтветитьYou can make liquid oxygen without super coolant by creating liquid oxygen with Thermo Regulators, then using that liquid oxygen as coolant inside an Aquatuner loop, to make more liquid oxygen. Allows you to run large Petroleum Engine rockets without having to make Oxylite, before you find Fullerene/Graphite. To stabilize the temperature of your coolant instead of it swinging by -14°C, run the outlet from the Aquatuner into a Liquid Reservoir with coolant stored inside. Same concept works for the Super Coolant when making liquid hydrogen, where you don't want to freeze the hydrogen. I use that instead of doors and conductive tiles.
ОтветитьExcellent job with this tutorial! Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьWatching these tutorials makes me feel like i am studying for exams again.
This game seems too big brained for me lol i still love failing at it.
When supplying rockets can you make a liquid loop with radiant pipes in the cold room so that the pump only runs when needed?
Ответитьthis guy makes the best vids
ОтветитьI don't play this game but i liked the video anyway
Ответитьnever clicked on a video faster
ОтветитьI was close to this but using doors instead of sending the cooling directly in the room where the liquid oxygen/hydrogen would be made me personally freeze them
Ответитьimagine being so rich that you just vent oxygen out into space because it's inconvenient
ОтветитьFYI, you can also use a liquid meter valve to fill rocket tanks with precise amounts of fuel and avoid having to create a loop.
Ответитьtip: use liquid bridges instead of insulation/ceramic pipes as bridges don`t transfer any heat. for insulation its cheaper and for ceramic it reduces the thermal transfer even further.
Ответитьawsome tutorials as always. amazing work
ОтветитьGreat video! One suggestion I always make is to have your gas H2 radiant vent through your LO2 room to 'pre-chill' your H2 to relieve the LH2 Thermo Aquatuner, thus evening out the workload between both Aquatuners and making it much faster to convert your H2 into liquid.
ОтветитьHigh quality content as always, thank you!
ОтветитьLove ur tutos and how u never stay coming back at old concepts already explained in others!!!! This makes a good and concise tutorial without being something incomplete!
ОтветитьAnother concise and detailed guide. I can't wait to try this in my own game!
