Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel 5 Years Later - Is it Worth Playing?

Never played Borderlands but will try this game tonight.

This game were the final game that was published by 2K Australia before the company were shut down 6 months later.
In my opinion, and I guess everyone will disagree with me on this one, I think both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel are equally great!
Sure it can be annoying with the gravity where a loot can sometimes (on drop) flies miles away from you and falls down on instant death pit, but it introduced new playable characters, new mechanics (like cryo element) and OZ-kits. And also tells the story how Jack rose in power.

It has the best high level combat of all the BL games, by far. It needs a serious next gen reboot, but that'll never happen. BL2 is the better game but this one is my favorite.

I loved claptrap so much that I plan on doing a 4 player co-op game with all claptrap. TIME HAS COME FOR THE ROBOLUTION TO RISE FROM THE ASHES!!!

Also, great vid. Loved the add of the castle crashers music.

Tales and tps are two of my favorites for borderlands

I just beat it and I can say while it’s not as good as BL2 nothing better than 2 as it in the top 50 games of all time.

The story very flat but better than BL3 main story. It Focus on Jack trying to be on top by overthrowning the leaders. Your there to help.

Unique stuff: I found low gravity very charming and fun while most people hate it idk, It’s diff. Laser guns were fun but not that strong sadly. DLC going inside claptrap mind was good and worth it.

There a lot of generic characters but one of my personal fav being Ice queen with her sniper skills very good solo n coop. Just fit my play style to a tea

Took me less than 60 hours to beat it but I did every side mission and grind etc so yeah

Overall very fun and simple game 7/10 just like BL3 DLC saved that game from being awful it sorta the same in this game but there really only one big DLC and it feel like the true ending so it’s weird being a “DLC”hmm idk 🤷‍♂️

TPS was my introduction to borderlands and the reason I fell in love with it.

BLTPS is better than BL3. I still think BL1 and 2 will never be topped though.

Just to note, while it isn’t anymore, the game WAS 60 bucks at launch. And had a 30 buck season pass with barely any content.
Just saying that because you kept saying it wasn’t.

I’m playing through this game for the first time and i love it, the gravity mechanic is super well tuned imo and i love how it’s just absolute chaos really enjoyed it

PSA: Play Tales from the Borderlands

I got the 1,2 and the presequel for $15 on switch. Couldn't pass up a deal like that.

TPS was just an "ok" game. Nobody liked Pickle at all and lots of the Australian flavor got old pretty fast. Like... What the honest fck is a "Fair Dinkum"? Also, some of the levels are a frustrating nightmare of rage quitting... veins of Helios is a great example here, just really bad level design.
Also, the nail in this games coffin was the trophy list. if you like trophies TPS is one of the absolute worst games ever made in that regard. The trophy requirements are absolute ass, just horrible, HORRIBLE!

Honestly my biggest issue with TPS is how every ncp sounds similar to eachother. It’s like they had one male and female voice actor and just used them for every npc. I swear I’ve even heard an npc that sounded exactly like Janey Springs…

This is my favorite borderlands game

I just got back to helios in under 5hrs. I have no idea what is going on im at 14 hrs lvl 20 in a lvl 25 boss fights against the skarphadon. My first play through and i havent watched any videos yet today

So many you tubers with obvious speech issues. If you're doing a job that needs clear concise communication you should work and pronunciation at the very least. Also. Slooooow the fuck down. You're not an auctioneer.

This game is awful compared to the other borderlands games finding it really difficult to navigate around places

Claptastic voyage is still my favorite dlc in boderlands. With tiny Tina's dlc being a close 2nd of course

I thoroughly enjoyed both the first and second borderlands. I’m finally playing the PreSequel. It is bland and confusing.
The comedy writing is just as good as the first two Borderlands.

but the story in Borderlands The Pre-Sequel sucks and the claptastic voyage is the only good dlc

I've got into the series through the legendary collection on switch, and honestly, after beating 1 and 2 (irrelevant, but I killed Handsome Jack with bane) and playing through a good chunk of pre sequel, Pre sequel is honestly my favorite game in the series. It's hilarious, the vault hunters actually interact with the characters(Jack [Timothy Lawrence] telling the security Claptrap to go $!%! Himself and getting ticketed was absolutely hilarious), and the gameplay is insanely fun. Granted their isn t whole lot new, but I don't see why it gets so much hate. It's an absolute blast, and honestly, people, if you played 1 and 2, play this game, it's just so good

BLTPS is my favorite. The skill trees were filled with action, not just buffs. The Low gravity environments are a joy to jump traverse, tons of verticality, it makes ground based FPS seem stale. The Slam Mechanic is a blast, and makes close combat scenarios enjoyable, instead of the typical “shooting gallery” from behind cover. I was skeptical about Laser weapon’s, but they’re as diverse as normal weapons (certainly more than the video described). The vacuum/atmosphere changing areas is really interesting, requires different techniques, and even the sound changes. There isn’t as strong a focus on Fire/flesh, corrosive/armor mechanics, due in part to fire not creating DoTs in a vacuum. Cryo is infinitely better than Slag as the damage boosting element; it does it’s own thing, freezing, and isn’t required for UVHM. (I hate BL2 UVHM; I don’t like having to methodically apply a slag DoT on nearly every enemy, constantly swapping weapons. One of my least favorite mechanics ever). The Stingray hovervehicle is a blast, highly intuitive, extra verticality and exploration, and does slam attacks too. The Oz kits are fun, and can really shape a playstyle, especially utilizing low gravity. The Grinder makes having purples equipped far more likely, and the extra luneshine effects can really make a gun far better and unique. I disagree that the environments aren’t varied; they are, and look great. I also like the game’s length. It doesn’t wear out its welcome. The DLC’s are mostly great; the holodome isn’t robust, but the Claptastic voyage more than makes up for it. The late game could use more, but the planned DLC was scrapped, unfortunately.
