Another words he’s a cool doctor. Not one of those surgeons who work in a hospital or in a practitioner office with bad bedside manner lol. JK.

I recently did a 3 day fast where I fasted until dinner time and I was surprised at how good I felt. The first day I could feel my body going through withdrawals and had a pretty bad headache but the next two days I felt amazing. It’s funny because my purpose of the fast wasn’t for anything weight loss or health related but more of a way to get close to God as I’m a born again Christian. However, I am considering adopting this into a way of my every day life as I really enjoyed the benefits of fasting.

Thats because you were eating fake bread, Joe. Real bread, which hasn't been made in stores for years, contains the healthy ingredients that trash companies and rulers have taken out. Real bread is LIFE.

South African doctors and specialists have announced that they would rather close their practices than work under the government's National Health Insurance, any advice to South Africans?

I started at 347. Ive been fasting for minimum 16 hours for the past 2 and a half weeks. Usually only eat 1 meal a day or about 1800 calories. Ive lost 22lbs already and i feel better mentally and physically. The first 3 days were rough. Pounding headache and felt like i was starving. So glad i stuck with it and im gonna see where this will take me

You should water fast for 7 days once a month. Kills and reproduces cells. Which means your cancer cells will die

I really wanted/needed to lose weight. Pretty big boozer, and love to snack. I took his advice and tried Peter’s time restricted eating. Been on this program for 4 months now. First 3 months, pretty much ketovore. The weight just started melting off. I do exercise, and whatever else I could do to help lose weight. After 3 months, still have the 2 hour eating window. I have been eating a small amount of carbs, and little sugar. Just got off the scale right now, and I went from just under 198lbs, to 160lbs even. Screw losing all that weight, the feeling is amazing! Not being a slave to food, ton of energy, killed my urgent bowel movements!

Im on a 7 day waterfast, maybe more if I can hold myself back on day 8. I do this every year since 2019 and its an amazing experience but also a sufferfest.

I always feel like newly born afterwards. The benefits are huge, maybe more that this guy knows, despite being a doctor (but knowledge in Germany might be different). Most commonly known is autophagia but less known is that your cells build more mitochondrias, which will make you more energetic afterwards.

What I personally love is the insane boost of self discipline. Also nice is the digestion is super good afterwards. Its a reset for you, that makes you able to break bad habits and start good ones. Oh and if you want to eat the tastiest thing ever: breaking the fast is intense. Its so intense and so tasty, that you might cry. I broke it ones in summer with a watermelon slice, it was the yummiest food ever in that moment and I had tears in my eyes. Just be careful at first. If you eat heavy instantly its bad for you.

Can only recommend it to everybody, but most people are too weak for it seems.

Growing up it was 18-6. We ate at 6am and noon.
I still eat one meal and sometimes snack once on nuts or something if I’ve been active
The body can run efficiently on far less food than the average human eats

Just FYI for anyone who doesn't actually follow Peter, he doesn't fast anymore and his main focus with his diet is getting in enough protein, which he found he couldn't easily do while fasting (as it needs to be around 1.6-2g per lb of bodyweight AND you shouldn't have more than 60g protein in one meal).

It can be a great weight loss tool but the benefits if you're already lean aren't really proven. If you enjoy it though, keep on keeping on. Nutrition is one of those sciences that is just so complicated and so new that the fads change every few years. Eat healthy, unprocessed foods in reasonable amounts and get enough protein and healthy fats and you'll be golden, doesn't matter how you do it.

Here is what I have noticed. When I fast, if it’s a day where I’m not doing any serious exercise, I’ll be just fine, but not necessarily better than if I did fast. If it’s a day where I do very intense exercise, then I’m fucked for the rest of the day energy wise. And then I struggle with digestive issues because I have to stuff my face in a 6 hour window to meet my daily caloric requirements.

Hey Rogan, you can fast 16+ hrs if YOU want to. I fast up to 23 hrs a day everyday and never "feel" hungry. Hint: hunger is a choice. You will not die without food, for one day. I am losing 10 to 12 lbs a month with ease. Be the master of your body and it will adapt.

Great talk on Fasting! I'm a retired veteran who has MS. I believe in Fasting 100%. I'm proof it works! I would like to see other doctors of different backgrounds on your show speaking the truth like the gentlemen here. Dr Bobby Price is one who comes to mind. My wife and I listen to your Podcast all the time and we enjoy it.
