So I got a really tough problem which i am trying to solve from a month but nothing works
I am using kali linux 2020.3 vbox
So the problem started with when I tried to install any program by sudo apt-get install "program name" I was getting the errror E: unable to locate package "program name"
Then I tried updating the repository by sudo apt-get update and then I got error E:some index files failed to download.they have been ignored ,or old ones used Instead.
I have the lastest repositories in the sources.list and have double checked it from Kali Linux repository page .I don't know what is wrong but I ain't able to install anything due to this issue

It lets you type the password, it just doesn't show it to you. Type the correct password and press enter. You should be able to go.
