You can order the programer, orange OBDII for $35, and program it yourself. Most locksmiths will cut the key for $1 to $2 per side. So you can do it yourself for $39. Come on Scotty.

Where is the follow up video for people who either lost, or had stolen the only key and Key Fob they had at the time.

As I needed another reason to hate car manufacturers and dealers.

I realize this is not exactly what you're talking about in this video and i apologize. I was hoping you could help. I had to replace the ignition lock cylinder in my '03 Honda Pilot. Is there a way to reprogram my old fob with a new switch and key? The battery had died and I couldn't reprogram the fob with the old switch because it was difficult to turn and I wasn't able to complete the process in the amount of time needed. Thanks for any advice.

My 08 accord key has been broken for 2 weeks. Honda quoted me 350, local locksmith 250. Ace hardware copied the key and put the fob in a new enclose for 30 bucks. Always look around first.

Hi Scotty. Thanks for the video. I recently lost my key for an Audi S4 2018. My quote from the dealership, with a new key and programing, comes out at about $700. What's bothering me is that there a BUNCH of second hand keys of the same type on ebay that I can't justify buying because nobody seems to know how to unlock/reflash a key fob of this year. It seems to be the same for programming as well. If i could get someone to unlock a second hand key I'll eat the cost of programming ($250 at the stealership). Would you know where I could go to get this done? I'm in NYC, maybe there is somewhere that does nationwide service? Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for the long message!

My key wouldn't turn all the way anymore no matter how much I jiggled the key and the steering wheel (it was loose and not locked). I used a rubber mallet to hammer a flathead screwdriver into the keyhole and I was able to use the key to turn the car on after that. Do you think this is a safe solution? My key has the immobilizer chip so I would think that prevents other keys or even a screwdriver from being used to turn the car on.

OK I am going to sound really stupid asking this but I have my 06 scion tc with two keys that buttons to unlock and everything BUT I also just bought a 2013 scion tc with the two keys that are the basic ones. They are the ones you have to put it into the door to unlock... I was wondering if I could pop off one of the 06 tc keys with the unlock, lock and panic buttons. Pop it onto th 2013 tc and reprogram it? I mean I can just not be lazy and just get a new key with one and have it cut, but I'm on keys over load here. Being a single mum with a 4 year old I feel safer be able to press that button to unlock fast and get in my car. I hope that made sense and I didnt sound like too much of an airhead 🤡

I have a 2017 Toyota camry, and I lost my key fob.Thankfully,. I have a spare key which opens the doors as well starts the car. Now I'm thinking of making my spare key my main key. What I was wondering is if I make a copy of my Spare key and it doesn't have a chip in it,.Will I still be able to open the door? or does the door require a chip as well?

Dealers absolutely love smart fob owners who break the fobs. It's only about 80% pure profit for them (my ex-father-in-law managed a Toyota dealership,).

I have a 09 volvo s80, my key fob dousnt come out anymore, it is no the motor as it injects the key but dousnt eject, theres no broken peices inside the housing, i hooked up an autel pro series reader to the car and found under keys that it shows the key inject in as activated but shows key eject out not activated and wont let me change anything, any ideas?

I have an issue you might be able to help with. 2001 Ford Ranger. Lost keys. Towed to dealer, they made 2 keys and it doesn’t work. They said I need a new Ecu. Quoted me $600. No lights on dash when using new key. Old silver spare without chip turns ignition and lights turn on but don’t start. Locksmith tried and his programmer says ECU disconnected so he couldn’t help me program keys either. Do I really need a new ECU to fix this?

My boyfriend lost his key with the chip in it and he called and had several locksmiths come and make a key but none have been able to start the car why is that? They are saying he may need a new ignition when he just lost his keys and now none of them have made a key thay will can start it he even got the code from the dealer.
