Best cooler reviewer on the internet. Other outlets are still testing on the Zen 2 platform LOL, and these new Thermalright coolers are not getting much attention either.

I've got an i7-9700K (no OC) and I want to replace my Cooler Master Hyper 212x. Temperatures in my city are pretty high in summer (32-40ºC | 89-104ºF).
Will Frost Spirit 140 cope better with ambient temperature than Phantom Spirit due to the bigger size? Are they compatible with LGA1151?

Can you please review the ID Cooling IS-67-XT?

I wondered how Phamtom Spirit 120 and 120SE are different, and so I compared them by looking into their product page. Although they are almost identical, I've found a slight difference between them other than their top panel. PS120 is 3 mm taller and has 3 more fins than PS120SE if the diagram on each product page is accurate.

Did they change the name of the “frost spirit” to “phantom spirit”?

For the gaming temperatures graph you have the Scythe Fuma 3 on the graph twice. You labeled the TR Frost Spirit 140 as the Scythe Fuma.

I will buy one for my 13900k. I'm between the Frost Spirit and the Phantom Spirit. I like that the Frost Spirit is white. I like that the Phantom seems smaller...I value silence! Help me decide 🙂 Also, I don't want it above my rams. Would it be okay to transfer the fan to the back side, or just keep the middle one? Would it make too much difference? I got a lancool 3 with stock fans.

How come there is no dedicated review of the Frost Spirit? It seems to be one of your best performers of all time, yet lacks much coverage.

I purchased this cooler as a replacement for my old Cooler Master AIO. Upon inspecting it I found a noticeable nick in the nickel of the baseplate (not bad enough to send back or affect performance). After installation and testing it out performed my AIO, so that was great, but.......one of the included fans "rattles" until it gets up to speed. It sounds like bad bearings in the fan hub. I have contacted Thermalright support to see if they will help and replace the bad fan. We shall see.

would this be a good cooler for the 5800x? I know its dumb but evena 280mm aio is having issues keeping it cool during gaming.

I think you should test both intel and AMD CPUs, because of the different hot-spots and potential for offset mounting. On modern CPUs you can't count on the hottest part of the die(s) being under the center of the IHS, so this will naturally favor some coolers on certain CPUs. FS-140 vs FC-140 is an easy example; I wonder if the FS only performs that well on certain intel CPUs and maybe the FC would perform better on AMD, because the heat-pipes cover a larger area or are more directly under the CCDs.

Impossible to beat this for the price. I almost pulled the trigger on on, just because - not that I really need to replace my TUF Mugen 5... but then I realized the Phantom Spirit would hide my rainbow-puke RGB-RAM. That point should be clearly stated in the review, lol.

If I switch the front fan of the TRs to the back of the heatsink (to see the ram's led), I'll have the same performance or not? Thanks

I would like to see more 140mm cooler. Not just 120mm or 140+120mm packs.

I've recently put this cooler on a 5800x, switched from Thermalright's Macho rev. B (a behemoth of a cooler), and results are great!
One thing that imoroved greatly but is not so obvious is my GPU temps. The macho was apparently so big that it was close to my Rx6800xt and it heated it up noticeably, so when I switched to the phantom spirit, my GPU temps dropped by 8-10 degrees!

Still love how Thermalright was the the top end about 2 decades ago, sort of disappeared and now is back with a vengeance and causing this much havoc.

does the TR PS and TR PA come with the LGA1700 mounting bracket when ordering off Amazon in Canada?

still loving my peerless assassin! been ruining it for several months with the phanteks t30 fans on my 7950x with zero issues whatsoever! even tho you all told me they wouldnt fit lol. months later still rocking it flawlessly.

Really impressed by the Frost Spirit 140 results especially considering its price.
Should I expect any difference in performance between the normal, black or white version?

Any chance you could test the OG Noctua NH-D12L? Would love to see it compared against the Montech Metal DT24 (those two are the only ones that fit in a NR200P case from all of the coolers listed on your test)

Thermalright is bodying everyone right now. Puts Noctua to shame and not even Deepcool can touch the value proposition of the PA, FS, and PS.
