This unedited video shows the exact moment “totality” occurred on the summit of Mount Gloriette in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, during yesterdays eclipse on April 8th 2024, at 3:28pm. We shared the summit with about two dozen people. Moments before totality the horizon lit up and it looked like a sunset in every direction that we could see the horizon. The temperature dropped from 55 degrees Fahrenheit to 40 degrees during the eclipse. After about 2 and a half minutes of totality the sky lightened like a time lapse sunrise.

I had my doubts that there was really that big of a difference in experience between 99% and 100%, and while I know any partial eclipse is worth seeing, I understand now that 100% is something you should try to experience in your lifetime if you are able. It was a celestial experience like no other that you can have on Earth.
