What if you already have been deleting files and folders and they are floating there, formatting is not an option since you are using your computer but want to make sure that the files deleted already can not be recoverable

How Eraser software works, delete files/folders permanently by ITSELF ALONE, or I must DELETE FIRST from Windows & Recycle Bin, AND AFTER use Eraser to delete - the Windows deleted files - permanently, … ?

What if you already have a bunch of files that you’ve emptied from the recycle bin.
Can these systems in your video be used to ensure all that data is removed also?

Step 1: delete the file system's reference to the data. Step 2: scrub, shred and zero the ever-loving hell out of it!

Yes you can get files and folders back in a certain amount of time because when you hit delete , you are not removing just the pointer This is how law enforcement obtains deleted files and folders during a forensic recovery

So how come when the Cops raid my house, the first thing they grab is my computer???? Simple DELETE does not remove it from the HD. Anything I want deleted goes into a “File Shredding” app that goes through multiple layers of deletion, I do not leave it to MS to get rid of anything I don’t want left on the HD. Maybe it’s just my opinion.

i go classic: open file explorer select drive, find particular file/folder you want gone and right click it select delete. This will remove the data from your computer; however, i don't know if it removes the actual data/memory from being restored via software.

like others said if you ever did something on the drive best way to gurantee it won't be leaked somehow is destroying the drive physically.

Great video Brian I do like the Powershell method but the others do seem to be as equally good. Will this method work with some of those softwares you come across sometimes that are so hard to remove?

Interestingly, I got both Wipfile and Eraser, but, I discarded them both as they wouldn't get rid of the incompatible drivers that were stopping me from enabling Memory Integrity. Wise Force Deleter and Emco Unlock It were the ones that did the trick. I have CMD on my desktop as a shortcut which is set to run as administrator. Does the job and saves me having to fish it out of menus.

One thing to remember is that secure delete utilities tend not to work to well with SSD's. The SSD controller is hellbent on not deleting anything unless it has to to preserve it's life and will just de-allocate the Flash used for the sector being deleted and allocate a different (unused) part of the Flash to that sector.

What appears is that, yes, deleting file/folder permanently is on-point. What is not voiced is that it DOES NOT delete the DATA referenced by the MBR entry. Last I heard, a specific apps to scramble/overwrite data associated with the Folder/File. While an app was mentioned is should also be said that the app also scrambles/overwrites the data associated with the entry.
