Slide: Paul’s answer: Christian freedom is not a license to sin.

Slide: Justification 2: The “I can’t help myself” argument.

Slide: Rom. 6:12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, 13 and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin [as] instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Slide: Paul’s answer: Sex is not a bodily need. If you have no self-control, you’re not saved.

Slide: Paul’s answer: Your sexual morality greatly affects your relationship with God.

Slide: Justification 4: The “I could be doing a lot worse” argument.

Slide: Paul’s answer: Every part of you is holy and belongs to the Lord.

Slide: Psa. 32:1 How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered! 2 How blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit! 3 When I kept silent [about my sin,] my body wasted away Through my groaning all day long. 4 For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was drained away [as] with the fever heat of summer. Selah. 5 I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I did not hide; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"; And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.
