Firstly pitou strength shocked them to the point that the narrator pointed it out with their eyes even doing the typical (nani what the hell look) yet some people have 0 iq and cant see that to both zeno and netero, pitou was looking like a complete monster. Meruem then casually walked past them without trying to kill them like he is so confident it will happen anyway and also unfazed by what pitou did unlike zeno and netero who both FROZE for a second. Meruem being so calm and not even flexing his nen a little was all they needed to see to know that he is beyond their imagination.

I like to see Zeno getting respect in this thread, he comes as a a really consistent character. Maybe it's because of his age, but he is easily the Zoldyck with the most defined values and moral code; a really chill guy compared to everyone else.

It should come as no surprise to see how much it bothers him to have almost killed Komugi there, based on the evidence Togashi had already provided:

-When Gon, Leorio and Kurapika got into the Zoldyck mansion, Canary said she hoped Zeno would be the one to pick the phone. Togashi told us what kinda guy Zeno is even before we saw him.

-He told Chrollo that he doesn't kill for fun, and isn't willing to do it without a pay.

So yeah, Zeno is a cool, consistent and well written character and the most likeable of any Zoldyck besides Killua.

The strongest character in hunter x hunter is netero's plot bomb. Not even Nanika could save Meruem.
