if the riots purpose was to gain civil rights for all people then why is it that even after 500 years we as black people still have not gotten rights in the justice system , or our civil rights most of our freedoms are false we can purchase a house in a new neighborhood and we get prosecuted for being the skin color we are and get threatened or accused of something we don’t do, or we can walk the street any time of day and get shot at beat up or again accused of something we did not do we continue to be looked at differently than any other race for being us as a people where do the civil right come in that ,we can even be followed in stores as if our intentions are to steal something knowing we have the money to pay , but yet and still we are still being followed not understanding this at all.

This video glosses over the violence perpetrated upon the men and women who fought for these rights. It makes it sound like there were a few sit-ins and then they won. Where is footage of those young people getting dragged off lunch counters and beaten, being spit on, having food dumped over them? Let's not forget.

The Civil Right Movement was very sexist. Black women were rarely given a chance to hold leadership positions and speak during rallies. When MLK Jr and his colleagues were invited to the White House, they left Coretta and the other wives on the doorstep of the White House.

I still haven't received privilege because I'm white. White privilege is a made up term by a white woman. It doesn't even have anything to do with black lives. It is a great way to get people to bow down and kneal to others. I can not understand the feeling of being oppressed for the color of my skin. Because I am caucasian. That doesn't mean I received any privilege. I just wasn't persecuted for the color of my skin. Privilege is an advantage. Not a free pass.

Compare what went on with Dr. King with what is going on today. It's two different creatures. With Dr. King there was "Common Humanity" Social Justice, where the Reverend appears to the common goodness to everyone. We are all human beings regardless of race and we all should be treated with respect and as equals. What we have today is "Common Enemy" Social Justice, which is an utter corruption of the whole concept of Social Justice. It's where humans are reduced to their mere collection of parts without any consideration of individuality or even humanity for that matter. It's where you go from Hashtag Black Lives Matter to Hashtag Your Life Doesn't, and that's what I'm fearing is happening. Dr. King's Social Justice ended with a surge of social progress that woudln't be possible without it. Today's Social Justice only ends with the gillotine.
