You need to interview Alain Caron. The master Fretless F bass
ОтветитьYeah, I'd watch a vid of Ian's basses
Ответитьkeep the Yamaha!!!!!!
Ответитьyea. access to the three hundredth fret! 😂🤣😆😁
Ответить*Flea on give it away*
ОтветитьEPIC
ОтветитьGet rid of 'em all...except the Fender's. The rest look like they were made in High School wood shop.
ОтветитьLive in Carlisle, and love Overwater! we used to be Facebook pals, and man, I adore your journey, Scott!
ОтветитьI was looking for a fretless bass recently and found a 2019 MIM Fender Jazz for sale for 400 bucks. The guy bought it during covid but never played it. So i decided it wasnt a bad price. It came with a set of Seymour Duncan quarter pound pickups, badass bridge, hipshot tuner, and a hard case. He even gave me the Rumble 25, well worth the 2 hour drive.
Those wondering the shop where he bought the bass from did all the work and the old parts were in the case.
Trying to conjugate the verb “to treat” as “tret” in the introduction video to the “P-Bass of Doom” years ago was the dumbest thing associated with it … until you swapped its neck with the Moollon. Yeesh.
ОтветитьSurprised there's not a single Stingray!
ОтветитьWould be great to see a Daion MK2
ОтветитьThat b.n.f. is awsom
ОтветитьIs there any basses i can buy similiiar to the overwater expression 5 string hollow body
ОтветитьPeter Hook was the reason i bought a Yamaha BB myself:)
ОтветитьIs there any reason you don’t use fodera anymore?
ОтветитьYouguys need a gibson eb-3
ОтветитьIt'a a nice collection, especially the Wal MK1 and Ovation Magnum IV but I'm surprised there is no Alembic, Warwick, Gibson or Stingray in the collection! For me variety is the key as it makes you play differently, I never have more than 1 of the same model/type of bass. I'm guessing Scott is mostly a lover of Fender Precision & Jazz basses and variations of them which is fair enough, they are classics (I have both too, but one of each is enough!)
ОтветитьThat BNF 5 sounds amazing
ОтветитьLOL 🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьWhy the glove...?🤔
ОтветитьThe Wal is my dream bass. I don’t have any where near enough money for one, but maybe one day.
ОтветитьThat F-Bass BNF 5 sounds killer....
ОтветитьThis was so amusing! I really want to win the Extender bass. And it comes with the table, right?
ОтветитьI've been "ordered" to sell most of my basses, by my wife, prior to our move back to the EU (Spain). I have 2 Yin Yang DeluxeFoderas, 2 Walls, Gibson Thunderbird II, Prototype Fender Jazz owned by Rudy Sarzo, '62 stacked knob Fender Jazz, Fender owned by Warren Waters, Fender owned by Stu Hamm, Fender owned by Pablo Cruise bass player, 1984 Warwick Streamer Stage I NT Masterbuilt Spector NS that caused a "copyright" lawsuit between Spector and Warwick and the list continues.....
ОтветитьNo Zon, Modulus, Status, Sadowsky, Spector or Music Man? smh
ОтветитьGWB35 has a custom wound humbucker
ОтветитьAndy Rourke has a BB bass on the Hatful of Hollow album. Peter Hook plays BB bass as well.
ОтветитьFlamed spruce is not a thing. My understanding is that the gymnosperm tree species can only exhibit "bear claw" figure in their timber, and not flame, quilt, or birdseye commonly seen in angiosperm specimens.
ОтветитьBTW, always loved your Overwater sig. Have never played one but it sounds and looks cool as and the string spacing would suit me. Oh, and FWIW you once setup a Jaydee I bought from Overwater and it was one of the best setups I’ve ever had, suited me perfectly! 😊
ОтветитьNathan East use to play a BB 3000
ОтветитьBilly Sheehan used to have a pink coloured
Yamaha BB 3000 bass
I’m sure you could sell that Wal for a few bucks.
Ответить1974 Jazz Bass sounds thin and flat. Not nearly as good as any other bass of this collection.
ОтветитьWhen you get over 70 basses in your collection...worry. Also, Music Man Bongos can get ANY tone in this entire video and more. Same with some of the MM Stingrays and sterlings.
ОтветитьTop basses, Wal and that Fretless F Bass.
ОтветитьLove this video, love almost all the SBL videos. One request, how can you show some love to us lefty's on the giveaways?!?!
ОтветитьSo who has the cajones to learn Welcome to Art by Nick Campbell Destroys? 😂😂😂
ОтветитьI just sold my 1996 Kensmith BTG 5 Custom last year! It was an amazing bass. I was the second owner of it. I do miss it!
ОтветитьHello nerds of Thunder.
ОтветитьI still have 2 basses. Fender shorty acoustic, 1990's and I have a Warwick Jazz bass from 2014.
I have a third bass actually, it's been retired.
This shop called Woodcraft, they make shorty P-basses and short telecaster clones, called Ampmaster. They actually look nice, the upgraded hardware and pickups, they have the Fender tone people crave.
I just found out the shop existed the other day, made in USA. Not a lot of makers of short Fender copies. Anyone have any experience or knowledge about Woodcraft ?.
I figure my options are quite limited anyways since I can't afford like a Mako or something for 5 grand, but that looks perfect.
You guys are so blessed to be rich Bassists, with 72 wonderful instruments...each. I like that Ian Allison Bass, that short scale...ya man I need to borrow it please.
I am not a short person, I am focused and compact. I just see short scale as a lighter and more compact bass, you can really get used to the tonal characteristics and string tension they have.
34 inch necks have much tighter string, plus I run extra heavy strings which makes them a bit tighter. For recording I need a shorty electric I think, passive switch with a classic midrange tone. Warwick is a good slapper but it does not have a vintage tone at all, it's a perfect metal Bass or for Funk it works for thumping. It just sounds dark and nasty with the electronics I put in, NTMB circuit. I might have taken from the versatility of the original Bass, not sure.
I might just go to 30 inch scale all the time, 31 or so unless it's a song that's all slapping then I just grab the Warwick. Larry Graham slapped one, it must be a good slapper. Prince had one too,
I like Larry better with a Moon Bass, though I think it's a better tone for him. I put the same electronics from the Moon into the Warwick, results not as expected. The Warwick sounds a little more like a Music Man when slapped, more so than a Jazz Bass. I might even have just preferred a Jazz bass but again, it's perfect for any metal enthusiast who might want it.
I should call it Satan since it's the most evil sounding bass I have ever heard, I like to use the mids as well, the treble is all the way up. I should trade it to someone who can appreciate it fully, cause that wasn't what I was aiming for. Looking for something where I want to roll the tone off some, the treble and mids. Most Fenders are like this, stock. For someone else, playing with a pick or playing fast metal, my bass would be a totally perfect setup for that cause it's very forgiving. There's zero fret noise, string noise, no hum and It's very percussive like that. Very hard to be percussive on a Bass with a bunch of noise, on the strings or frets and a lot of them have this.
Wanna be minimalist 🤣🤣
ОтветитьScott, just curious have you ever played or owned a Pedulla? They made several models but my favorite is the Thunderbolt.
ОтветитьLoved the sound of the Overwater pbass. Similar to my active emg pbass.
ОтветитьThe Yamaha BB 3000 Tony Kanal and Richard Page of Mr. Mister, Nathan East for a while as well.
ОтветитьKubicki, Kenny G bassist Vail Johnson!!!
Ответитьlove the OverWater Sound
