I ended up just fast forwarding everything in hopes of something good but was met with disappointment.

I love LOTR but this was literally the worst tv show I have ever seen. It's actually unwatchable. The characters, the dialog, the story. I feel like the show was made by middle/high school girls.

I just watched the Witcher series, I dont know if anyone seen it but, Francesca Findabair is in my opinion how Galadriel shouldve been played. The actress is perfect and she looks stunning and has this magical look to her that Galadriel has in the LOTR movies.

Shes an Elf queen that sort of leads the Scoia'tael.

Galadriel faced some competition from Kang but still managed to keep her title of worst character ever. Congrats, Amazon!

На самом деле с таким бюджетом они могли снять настоящий шедевр. Но увы... Местами было несколько интересных моментов в сериале ,но с работами Джексона он и рядом не стоял. Эльфы, которые даже на эльфов не похожи с их короткими стрижками и современными укладками,особенно разочаровали. А при появлении персонажа Брайди Сиссон хотелось сразу переключить. Очень жаль ,что создатели сериала совершенно не прислушиваются к зрителям

I fell asleep 3 times during first half of episode one, most boring thing I've never watched.

I think the LOTR trilogy will be timeless simply because theyre beautiful movies. Almost everything is a practical effect and that makes it look incredibly real even though its a fantasy series. Plus, JRR Tolkien invented this kind of fantasy so...theyre also groundbreaking in being fantasy movies with adult themes

RoP can be viewd as involuntary metafiction.
It is a tv show about the Second Age, the Age in which the central theme is how hubris causes downfall: Elven hubris let Sauron return, decive them and forge the rings. Men's hubris let Numenor fall . Sauron's own hubris let the last alliance win. The hubis of Isildur let the ring survive.
And in a way RoP moves along the line. Amazon's hubris let them spend a billion dollars on the false premise that pouring endless money could bring them the best Tv show ever; and showrunners' hubris let them operate careless of lore, fandom and tolkenian themes on the false premise that calling "rose" a pig, or "Galadriel" a awful teenager with anger issues, could decive the pubblic. And doing so, all of them failed miserably.
RoP is a metafictional cautionary tale of how hubris could destroy anyone.

Oh man. Back a year later because of curiosity since I don't remember much of the trailer. I'm still upset and I don't like it any more now than I did then, but oh man they could have done so much better than they did! I honestly think it had potential. But they just tore it apart. It makes me sad.

Ouch. 758K dislikes. What was wrong with it? The biggest problem is usually when characters are weak and have zero chemistry between them. Weak plot or not, if no one cares for the cast it's going nowhere.

The only good in this show are the visuals, photography and soundtrack
