Learn Fusion in 10 Minutes! - Beginner Tutorial for Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve

Hi Casey,
I am having trouble getting the word BIRD text to be in sync with the word KING text when animating the slide outs from behind the Bird logo. I'm using Davinci Resolve V18.6.2, 2 Build.
Some of the tools are in slightly different spots in this version which is not a drama. My computer is a Mac Mini M1 16 GB running MAC OS Ventura 13.5.2. Hope you can assist me with this problem. Cheers John

lol this is a great tutorial and all, but by the time I do all the little cute node puzzle with all the strings, I have time to open after effects, create a beautiful animation with all kind of sparkles, render and go clean my pool. this node system is deceivingly prehistorical in my opinion. but not saying after effects is better. just saying they're both wrong and we have to get a new system already, not less customisable, but with different levels of customisation, top level producing final results really fast, down to bottom level allowing us to customize everything. for creativity's sake, it is crucial to lower the delay between idea and realization, much more than this ! when you see the amount of crap you have to lay down and plug together just to do this, you should be able to tell that the developers are very funny, but completely disconnected from reality. 🤣

Hi Casey! First of all, thank you for all these Fusion tutorial videos, I am following tham always! But I have one issue and i can't find the solution for long time. As many of us, I have purchased some text animation which works well, but sometimes i need to change some things and when I click to the effects on the timeline (edit page) and click to open in Fusion, I cant see the full node three in Fusion, just 2 nodes (the title effect node and the Output node). If i open the keyfames I can see the it contains many things and nodes, but I can not see in the node editor. I guess it is something like a group and I need to open it to see everything, but I can't find it how.... Can you make a short tutorial about this or just help me here? Many Thanks!

I've been using Davinci for some edits but the more I use it, the more features I discover! I've never used fusion to this extent - only to add camera shake and blur - but now I have a better understanding of what the nodes do xD Thanks!

Im basically new to Resolve. I have played around with it a few times but i need to be efficient at it.

So wait. Explain why you have to do Bird, then Transform, then merge, but not the other way around. And what happens when you put something on the background of hte merge?

Thanks for the tip that eveytything can be a mask, and not to take anything away from the video, but a have a question, when the preview monitor are empty on the video you can see a lot pixelating, like pixels going crazy, why is that? i ask because the rest of the video looks ok, maybe that black is too dark?

Awesome tutorial!! Could you also maybe make a tutorial on vfx? Like compositing explosions/decals on a moving / static shot.. which tracking to use and what they all do.. etc etc

Casey....this was really good. I am brand new to fusion so...I had to keep pausing, and rewinding to get all the steps. But, that was helpful. It will take some practice but, I am feeling a little more confident on the fusion tab. Thanks again.

You make it look easy , but with the million possibilities to change any given piece of footage still seems overwhelming……but I won’t give up trying
