It's weird that pikes aren't as good against infantry because that is one of the main things they were historically superior at.

This game might not have the best storyline, but it's dynamics is astonishing.

I like the idea but i feel like the spear should break after a few uses like a shield.

Conqueror's blade is the free version of this game and it's a lot better 😂

That's why I go with mounted archers. No need to crash into your pike wall, just circle and shoot.

This game made me realize just how terrifying a cavalry charge actually is this up close

Honestly, they should make pike formations denser.

They'd be a lot longer than. That but still epic

they stole almost all stuff from warband mod called diplomacy 4 :D

Gonna be honest I've never once witnessed pikemen use the brace feature

I've been trying a group of billmen with some pikes mixed in. not had the opportunity to really test it against a cav army but they kill infantry and small numbers of cav pretty well.

But irl pikemen sucks against cavalry too lol, 300 kg horse could kill everyone

This reminders me of Pikes in Total War, absolutely shreds anything charging into them (cav or not), but melt if the enemy has arches. I guess that's how it worked IRL hence why some countries used them until gunpowder become widespread. It would be nice if the entire formation braced so you would have multiple lines atacking at the same time plus it should have a small bonus angaist infantary too. BTW Pikes where OP in M&B:Warband in defensive sieges, halt multiple times larger enemies.

The spear must be some kind of alien weapon to be able to take 3 horses in quick succession.

Honestly Pike's should be fucking retarded. Like if they line up with a decent length pike it should be hard to infantry to even approach them, phalanx or not. There's a reason why warfare after guns degenerated into just pike and shot.

Usually pikemen where deployed on dense really deep formations specially at the start of the era

Spears have always been underpowered in mount and blade, really glad they changed it. May actually get around to buying this now that this gripe has finally been fixed

Should try this again but have the pikes form squares.

Figured that battanian Nobles are the best unit even as melee(they are broken op).

The advantage of 3 line pikes is that you trap a lot more cavalry and holding them in place means you ca do more damage before they run and suffer less losses in general this is all my opinion of course i could be wrong.

I see that cavalry can still push through the two-line formation, even though suffering losses. What abou two formations behind each other? That way if the cavarly pushes through, they will get stuck on the second formation and sandwiched between the pikes with no escape route.

Finally, the Rodoks will mean something

people keep forgetting the original build of the game came out in GOD DAMN 2004, it took them nearly a decade to get native warband to the state it is, bannerlord is gonna need even more

It's insane that they made spears completely ineffective in close combat, still can't get over that.

Finally vilandia can easily be beaten since they almost exclusively use cav units

That is how we brace in the Kanki army.

It is exactly this reason that i always flank with my cavelry.

They are suppose to outnumber the cav by a lot
Not get outnumbered by it

Tbh mabye a good strategy would be having line formation with pikemen on front and a shield wall on the back of them and then when the cavalry goes away put the shield wall on the front and pikemen on the back

It's been a long journey, but this game is getting better each patch

Two line of pikes and one full line of heavy units behind them (preferably Mamluks) and you have one hell of an anti cavalry unit
