Thanks so much for posting this video. My iMac became unusable after I erased the Fusion Drive with the intention of reloading the operating system. Your information allowed me to fix my Fusion Drive and reinstall the Mac OS.

Fusion drive doesn’t perform much faster than a normal hard drive. It’s just a mechanical hard drive inside the IMACS are garbage
And the NVME DRIVE US only like 28 GB. So what you do is you get 128 OR up to a terabyte NVME drive ,AND 256 to 1 terabyte sata SSD. Take Your iMac apart put in the NVME drive put in the SSD. Keep the drives split and install macos on the super fast NVME drive and use the SATA SSD AS storage or make a fusion drive out of those? It will still be monster fast but putting the operating system on the NVME and using the SSD as storage I was giving me by far the best results.

I just bought a refurbished mid-2011 iMac 27" and it looks like it only has 121.33 SSD. It's supposed to have 1TB HDD, too. When I go into "storage' under "about this mac" I see a non-clickable grey colored icon of a hard disk and underneath it it says 1TB and next to that directly to the right there is a long disk drive capacity bar with part of it highlighted in yellow on the far left side indicating the amount of space taken up by the operating system, etc and then directly above the long drive capacity bar it says "102.89GB available of 121.33GB." Why doesn't it say "1.1TB available of 1.12TB" or something similar? I am concerned the 1TB is hidden or missing so I won't be able to utilize it. Like I said I just bought this iMac. I haven't even used it. I'm about ready to return it if I don't figure this out. I hope I'm not jumping to conclusions here
