Tremendously helpful! Thank you!! I’m going to try making a HDPE mold.
ОтветитьVery cool indeed, thank you for sharing, this was very helpful. I think i going to lash out & get me a sheet of HDPE, cause I want my form to be perfect so when I make a silicone mold it comes out smooth & crisp, so then when I pour resin in it, it’s absolutely pristine
ОтветитьFascinating. Thankyou
ОтветитьHello, it's a nice video, congratulations. What is the material you use?
ОтветитьI’m curious if the corrugated board would cause the resin to not be smooth and flat. I’m making a one time resin epoxy pour to hold my daughters graduation leis and I’m having a tough time finding a mold big enough (12x11x3). I can’t fathom spending $150 for a decent mold for something I’m only doing once. I also don’t want to have to cut down the outer edges by using a plastic tote or something similar. What would you suggest?
ОтветитьLove your stuff. I have seen people use a clear flexible plastic to make circular molds what is that and where can you get it? Thanks, keep pouring!
ОтветитьWould love to see a pour on how you make the resin in these molds look like real wood (so real wood like looking)... prior to you actually making the blanks themselves. Cheers, Kev
ОтветитьUmm I thought this was a “beginners guide”? I really didn’t learn much how the process goes… just that it’s expensive and tips how to keep it from leaking and removal. 🫤
ОтветитьHi Jake. I have to say I love your teaching style - the way you explain things so well and give us little tips along the way. I found your video very calming, and it did for me just exactly what you wanted it to do. It made the process of making our own moulds much less intimidating, which will be so useful to me since I don't have much money to spend on expensive moulds. At the very least it inspired me to have a go at it myself, and at the best I just feel so empowered to take control over my crafting. Thank you so much for your generosity in showing us all this for free. 😉😁
ОтветитьIt makes all the difference that you’re authentic and provide the details that allow others to improve and succeed. Like how to scrape the edge of the plastic so the box doesn’t have gaps. Thanks for your video.
ОтветитьHi Jake, Excellent lessons you are teaching! I would like to be able to cast handles for serving trays and understand how to secure them. Not sure of the hardware needed to offset them so you can put your hand in them. Thank you!
ОтветитьNow, what do you use the mold for that had the sticks in it.? The one that you used the bucket to make the mold. Thank you for showing the basics!!
ОтветитьThanks😎😌👌🏿
ОтветитьNever done a mold before . Great encouragement. Thank you
ОтветитьWas curious would vaseline be a good substitute for mold release if you cant get any?
ОтветитьI didn't view this as an instruction for beginners. Seemed very advanced and requiring previous experience
Ответитьyour video is awesome. I do sculpture art
ОтветитьGreat Info, thank you!
ОтветитьSuper informative, right to point which I love . The how tos that babble lose my interest , u are
Concise and give variety of ways and what to do.
Thanks a lot glad I found ur posts…❤
This is awesome, thank you for making it look soo darn easy! 🙂
ОтветитьHi!!
I am trying to figure out how to make a silacone mold for a taper candle. What do you suggest for a housing for a taper candle? I want to be able to pour resin into the silacone to make a taper out of resin so it will look like a lucite candle.
👍👍👍
ОтветитьThank you! I am excited to try this.
ОтветитьThat was very educational. Thanks mate. 🇦🇺
ОтветитьHey. I've watched a lot of your videos - very helpful and thank you for sharing! A question for you about using wood in the moulds; how do you stop foam forming from air in the wood? Do you seal the wood first? I've only made one project using some of your techniques, and it looks great, apart from a few patches of foam that look like little clouds! Thanks from Ireland!
ОтветитьThese videos of yours are really helpful and informative. I've learned a ton already. And your style is very watchable (and entertaining). Thank you :-)
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьHi my frist time working with resin and I was doing some 2inc wood heart with gems and I don't have a mold to put them in to put resin on them any suggestions on how I might do them both sides your tips were very helpful thank you
ОтветитьAnother tip for screwing into the plastic is go slow and pull your bit out half way through each and allow any heat the dissipate :) alternatively you could use threaded inserts and use machined screws making it a lot more viable for deconstruction of the mold when not in use or for removing your casted projects
Great video and it was neat to see all the different mold techniques you’ve picked up
Thank You for sharing!
ОтветитьI’m curious about how much resin you could hold in a corrugated plastic mold? Would this kind of mold be sufficient for something like a shelf or cutting board?
Ответитьgreat job
Ответитьso you sdpent 20 min on how to build a box and 3 min on how to do the actual mold-- awsome
ОтветитьUse a stitch ripper to cut one side of corrugated board.
ОтветитьHi..your presentation and straight talking advice is priceless....Many thanks and kind regards from the U.K.
ОтветитьHAY THERE MY FRIEND WHERE CAN I FIND YOUR POBOX ADRESS.FROM DOUG
ОтветитьThank you for this. You are amazing and those are beautiful pieces!
ОтветитьDo you need to spray something on that hdpe before pouring the resign to keep it from sticking or is the surface so smooth it just comes right out?
ОтветитьI always learn so much from your tutorials! Thank you!
ОтветитьIam trying a large size mold for the very first time
ОтветитьWatched a few of your vids now...great info in every one! Sub'd man.
ОтветитьFirst of all, thanks for sharing your knowledge. It helps out cheap guys like me. LOL And thanks for the tips with the hdpe molds. I just made one and will go back and redrill my holes like that.
ОтветитьGreat video !
ОтветитьJake question. Being new to resin work. I had an idea to reduce the amount of resin. Has anyone ever tried using a roasting turkey bag inside a cylinder.
With the item with voids to be coated with resin inside the bag and then put rice outside the bag inside the cylinder? Since the plastic bag holds up to high oven temps, or does the chemical reaction breaks down the bag and cause leaks? Just an idea to reduce waisted resin.
That large piece is just Stunning!! 😍
ОтветитьYour work is Incredible!! And thank you so much for all your tips!
ОтветитьThanks Jake. Very informative and well presented.
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьEnjoyed seeing this video as a beginner. Do have a question, can you use HDPE to make a round 12 inch mold, 4 inches in depth? My pressure pot is 12 1/4 in diameter and I'd like to use it's dimensions and depth and have a reusable mold. Am I asking too much for a mold???? Thank you as I learning from your videos and gave it a thumbs up!
