The Turrican intro sounds like it’s a C64 remix of the song Escape by Vince De Cola which is a part of the 1986 Transformers movie soundtrack! :)
Ответить#1 Tel.
ОтветитьThe Zamzara title music by Charles Deenen is my favourite here but I would have added the in-game music from Eliminator by Jeroen Tel.
ОтветитьNice list. I thought I knew a lot of classic c64 tracks but this compilation contains a lot of music I'm not familiar with.
Cool that you included Zamzara, one of the most underrated c64 games in my opinion.
Simply the best sound chip. Thanks for the upload
ОтветитьCheck out the intro of "Saber Rider & the star sheriff's"
ОтветитьI don't see Duotris in the list, so it's a bad list.

Thanks for the game music.
ОтветитьNot even human, the c64 is techno capable
ОтветитьI can't believe there were so many games I did not know!
Great music! C-64 sound is so distinctive, and if well done, very impressive considering the hardware!
this mix is so good!! thank you! long live the 64!!
ОтветитьLots of good music here, no doubt of that! However, not many of my personal favorites made the list, if I made a Top 50 list I would probably include at least the following:
Platoon (both intro + in-game), Cobra, Double Take, Mutants, Netherworld (intro), Druid (intro), Feud, Ace II, Wizardry (The Edge game, every tune in it is great), Beyond the Forbidden Forest (all monster tunes), Bionic Commando (all levels), Inside Outing, IK+, Tetris (Mirrorsoft version), Gauntlet (intro), Ghostbusters, OutRun, Rainbow Islands, Shockway Rider, Space Harrier, The Vikings (the music was ripped off from the movie The Labyrinth, though), Vixen, Terra Cresta, 3D Skramble (rip-off of Brian May's tune from Flash Gordon).
But in case of C64, there's so much good stuff to choose from that it comes down to personal taste what people place at the top.
I REALLY LOVE MY C64 👍🥂🎩
ОтветитьSound of the dawn of my gaming years!
ОтветитьNice recordings! What is your setup? Perhaps C64-C with digiboosted 8580?
ОтветитьVery nice dude. There are some games I never heard of... :-) Maybe I try them out...
ОтветитьAwesome classic tunes from the beloved C64
ОтветитьA very nice compilation, thanks for uploading. Childhood memories. I do miss Rastan and Fist II, but then tastes are different. Best wishes to you.
ОтветитьThat C64 sound is the most distinctive of any system in gaming history. I didn't play most of these games, but hearing any of the soundtracks takes me straight back to when I was about 5 years old, playing Octoplex, Power Drift, Insector Hecti, Fast Food, Destruct, Commando, and Chuckie Egg 2.
ОтветитьStarting with Target, Renegade sets up the playlist so so well. Thanks for including some real hidden gems in here like Rolling Ronny!
ОтветитьThe C64 was my escape when the world just got to be too much, a digital dream land. This brings back fond memories of happiness.
ОтветитьBUt yOu LEFt mY fAvOuritE oUt SO lisT iS bAd. Great video thanks for uploading.
ОтветитьThat Cybernoid II Track is a banger!!! :-)
ОтветитьMartin Galway is one of my favourites on SID. I used to load the games up just for the music. Parallax and Times of Lore title tunes my top 2 of all time. Times of Lore had an awesome solo at the end, which was different every replay. I don't know of any other game music that ever improvised a solo.
Ответитьthing on a spring is the best
ОтветитьWhy is Slayer so loud?
ОтветитьNice selection all round - and good to hear them from the real thing as always :)
The tune you chose from Last Ninja II is actually The Streets (loader) - but the whole of that soundtrack is great.
The title tune to Twin Tigers was first used in Scout by Mastertronic.
And a challenge: see if you can spot the cover versions in this selection - there's a few..
Commando was a stand out piece
ОтветитьI listen to a lot of retro game music while I work so this is an amazing collection that will get more than a few play thrus I am sure!
ОтветитьLots of C64 games had great soundtracks, to think how much you could squeeze out of SID chip...
ОтветитьNice collection Daz! No room for Street Fighter? Oh wait, it was converted by Tiertex..... Remember to humour the trolls if/when the comments arrive. No heated debates y'hear :o)
ОтветитьThank you for the Upload.Hear 1 min in and allready Love it.Awsome job like allways :) Weekend is safe :D
ОтветитьNice job Zeus... Niiicccccceeee...
ОтветитьDid I miss it ? , but I can't see Game over here? That had awesome music , bad collision detection though lol
Ответитьsighhhhhhhh ........😉
ОтветитьHonestly man, no offense but that list of the "greatest" is piss poor. No Ocean loader? No Last Ninja 1? Traz, Wizball, Creatures 1/2? Each to their own but your list is poor considering the title. Jesus you'd be eaten alive by the r64 community back in the day :P
ОтветитьGreat to see Thing on a spring again! 👍
ОтветитьAwesome vid Zeus! 💪
ОтветитьAnd I thought the C64 couldnt do as much as the NES
Ответитьlove dat music! also space harrier?
