There is a line in this movie where a news reporter says “Ukraine, a country of some 52 million people is in almost total blackness tonight.” Wow, that was prophetic.

Happy to see that so many still appreciate this movie. Got a lot of flak for raving about this movie ever since it came out, but I still love it nonetheless.

Acting and screenplay is bad. The set and story are good for a 2005 movie.

A movie from my childhood

I recently rewatched this and honestly don't remember the color grading to be as atrocious as it is. A really ugly film aesthetically speaking.

I can still feel the same fear, I felt back watching this as a kid.

My favourite part about this movie is that the aliens had been planning this for 'millions of years' but forgot about bacteria and the harmful effects that it can have on an unprepared immune system or just the fact they didn't make the interior of the tripod a sterile environment. Also that they hadn't developed or used any kind of sensory equipment and completely rely on lights. Imagine if they used infrared I mean in the film the humans are wearing and jackets and hats so that indicates to a cold climate and the lighting had caused and EMP effect shutting off all kinds electrics they would stick out like sore thumbs. 🤣The message of this film is "make sure you get vaccinated before you go to another world terraforming and wiping out the indigenous population" 💀

Пора говорить ПРЯМО. ВСЁ ИСКУССТВО: КИНО, ТЕАТР, МУЗЫКА, КНИГИ, ПОЭЗИЯ, ЖИВОПИСЬ имеет ИСКЛЮЧИТЕЛЬНО ДВА ГЛОБАЛЬНЫХ СМЫСЛА , либо служит ПРОСЛАВЛЕНИЮ БОЖЬЕГО СЛОВА , либо дьяволу. СЛУЖИТЬ БОЖЬЕМУ СЛОВУ это значит , каждым КАДРОМ, РЕПЛИКОЙ, КУПЛЕТОМ и т.п. "ПРИВОДИТЬ" НАС, ЗРИТЕЛЕЙ, СЛУШАТЕЛЕЙ к ПОКАЯНИЮ, СПАСЕНИЮ ДУШИ, и соответственно наоборот, максимально удалять от него.

МЕРЗКОЕ сатанинское КИНО. Фильм ДЬЯВОЛЬСКАЯ НАСМЕШКА, а ПОЧЕМУ надо понимать следующее. Никаких ИНОПЛАНЕТЯН НЕ СУЩЕСТВУЕТ. А снимаются такие фильмы намеренно чтобы «отдалить» зрителей от истины(Бога), отдалить от понимания что ЧЕЛОВЕЧЕСТВО ЖДЁТ АПОКАЛИПСИС (полное УНИЧТОЖЕНИЕ привычной ЗЕМНОЙ ЖИЗНИ человека). А почему насмешка. Потому что Апокалипсис это будет ядерная война между всеми странами Нато и Россией, а сцены уничтожения пришельцами людей, полное испепеление, это вот как раз то что будет происходить с людьми при ядерном взрыве, не успевших ДОБЕЖАТЬ ДО МЕТРО(бомбоубежища). И вот как БЫЛО БЫ ХОРОШО, ЧТОБЫ КАЖДЫЙ зритель ПОНИМАЛ это. НО ЭТО очень «тонкий» момент, ПОНЯТЬ который МОЖНО будет ТОЛЬКО ЧИТАЯ, И ГЛАВНОЕ, ИЗУЧАЯ КНИГУ ЖИЗНИ, СВЯТОЕ ЕВАНГЕЛИЕ.

Ну А ЧТОБЫ НЕ БОЯТЬСЯ никакого АПОКАЛИПСИСА НУЖНО ПОВЕРИТЬ В БОГА, ПРЕСВЯТУЮ ТРОИЦУ: ОТЦА(СОЗДАТЕЛЯ ВСЕГО ЖИВОГО И НЕ ЖИВОГО, ВИДИМОГО мира и НЕ ВИДИМОГО),через СЫНА БОГА СЛОВО(ИИСУСА ХРИСТА), СВЯТОГО ДУХА.

А ЧТОБЫ "ПРИЙТИ" к БОГУ или ПОЗНАТЬ БОГА необходимо ПОКАЯНИЕ.

А что такое ИСКРЕННЕЕ ХРИСТИАНСКОЕ ПОКАЯНИЕ можно рассмотреть НА ПРИМЕРЕ, допустим НЕВЕРИЯ В БОГА. Это ОЧЕНЬ СТРАШНЫЙ СМЕРТНЫЙ ГРЕХ. This was a good movie for 2005!

I remember being eight years old and this FREAKING ME OUT!!! Guess I wasn’t ready to watch people die horribly in droves

My two favorite scenes from this movie, 1st: they enter a field of guts, and 2nd: the aliens die of a cold.

As a fan of the HG Wells’s novel, War of the Worlds is a masterpiece!

This looks way more intense than the new one just releasing soon. Remember seeing this on the big screen. Very eerie feeling all throughout, and the intensity of Tom Cruise cannot be matched by any actor. We need another Spielberg Cruise collaboration

I remember as a teenager in the mid 2000's going to Apple Trailers and watching those Quicktime videos of upcoming movie trailers. It was great because it introduced me to some really good independent films too.

Od dłuższego czasu myślę o tym filmie.
Teraz rozumiem dlaczego chcą wytępić ludzi i zastąpić sztuczną inteligencją. Nasze wirusy i bakterie są zabójcze dla tych z Kosmosu, którzy lecą do nas. Oni nie zatrzymają się, bo mają niewiele czasu.
Sami schowają się przed zniszczeniem. Okradają nas, aby budować sobie schronienia. O tym wiedzą wszyscy władcy, którzy tak czynnie uczestniczyli w programie Covid-19.

I've been thinking about this movie for a long time. Now I understand why they want to exterminate humans and replace them with artificial intelligence. Our viruses and bacteria are deadly to those from outer space who come to us. They won't stop because they don't have much time. They will hide themselves from destruction. They steal from us to build shelters for themselves. All rulers who so actively participated in the Covid-19 program know this.

The tripods and the cgi in this trailer felt different, look at the fire, Its more red. And the ferry scene where an underwater uberpod with no water falling at all, And the camelot scene. The tripod in the battle on hill scene is supposed to be a uberpod. Damn they really changed everything after this trailer came🧐

The movie tries to bring to the present what Wells wrote in the book and thats one of the reasons why this sucked. Imagine the same thing on the english country side at the beggining of the 20th century. Now theres an interesting plot. it makes the aliens much more terrifyng
