For this latest pass at Superion and his components, all I can say is that the jets' under-kibble is getting SO much worse. The recent Menasor looked great, and if Vortex is anything to go by, Bruticus is going to look great, but Superion is looking like five huge, unwieldy chunks with wings stapled on.

I'm not averse to "cartoon 'accuracy'" if it doesn't compromise the toy, but it should not come at the expense of one of the modes looking like garbage.

Got Air Raid and Slingshot today. Had to use the instructions to transform Slingshot. Slingshot definitely does not attach to Menasor arm.

Mate, you’re killing me! I was so trying to avoid literally buying into the Age of the Prime line but with Vortex coming out and this review I think I may have to go with these aerialbots because I want a good overall G1 collection. I also think the underside could have been better other than that they look good.

All to have a Superion… is kinda meh in my opinion.

i'd love to have a more streamlined Jet mode. But I guess like Blitzwing, I'm either going to leave him as a robot or part of Superion which sucks because I love the F-15 Eagle.

Odd question to ask but, do any of you know what type of screwdriver that would be used when installing some DNA upgrade kit? An example would be DNA upgrade kit for galvatron where you have to unscrew the back of the head to put on a different face for him, like that. What exact type and model do most of you use when applying DNA upgrade kits for your figures? Another example would be the scorponok DNA upgrade kit. Also do gap filler kits interfere with transformation of any TF figure or no?

It's great to see these Combiner Teams rolling out. With the tooling and quality they have these days, I'd kill for a definitive release of the Predacons. They were my faves😅

this set had my hopes up when they were first announced, but seeing them in reviews ruined this set for me, I prayed that the stock photos were betraying the figures, but my suspicions are confirmed and I won't be picking these up, which sounds weird to be typing to me because the Aerialbots have always been my favourites

Very disappointing. Ideally the alt mode would be the same size as a Seeker. This looks so unlike an F-15 and has more kibble than the original one did. I guess that's money I'll be saving this year - all the more to spend on Lego.

im still in two minds with the new combiners bascially all doing a "menasor" (cept for the constructicons) but i gotta admit it allows for more accurate bot and plane modes !

i just hate that head on superion. i know its cartoon accurate but i prefer the g1 toy head more.

still GREAT to be getting new combiners. its the best gimmic.

The aerialbots are the best autobot jets in history due to they beat decepticon seekers and combine into a powerful robot that will not rest till the decepticons change or they are pacified once and for all.

Appalling that Combiner Wars looks better than this.

Now I know we're getting a Bruticus I think that's my focus for a modern day combiner, he can fight my PotP Volcanicus.

I have the CW version, and based on this figure, it's going to be a pass. I'll be curious to see the combined version, but this looks like a simpler smaller version of the cw version with the AOTP's one positive is the more accurate look of the robot. It seems fine; just not inspiring at all.

I'm got my own SS Starscream next to me, so I know how big Air Raid's gonna be.

Cannot wait to get my hands on him. My only gripe with him is that they could have done a better job hiding his arms. They could have engineered him to open out his chest like the seeker mold and tuck his arms in.

Robot mode is solid. Plane mode is weak…. Very weak… first time that I see the alt mode have kibble

Not feeling the vertical stabilisers being mounted on top of the engines, looks really weird

air raid had enough of the decepticons and does a chaotic rampage on them

Nice review! I definitely plan to pick this one up if I see it, along with Vortex of the same line.

So this year we will get - Superion, Devastator, 1/5 of Bruticus, G2 Wildrider and hopefully some leak for Motormaster. Hopefully next year won't hurt wallet this much.

Ain't no way this is better than the Constructicons.

1: He doesn't turn into a limb.... so his engineering is lazy.
2: The alt mode has the bot mode strapped to bottom of a shell... so a shell-former.

At least the Cons are looking consistent, these Aerialbots will suffer the same fate as the other lazy combiner, Menasor.

I dont mind the under carrage thats just ...how it goes with jets the ONLY THING that Bugs me is the Vertical Tail fins their TOO CLOSE together seperate then and the jet mode is PERFECT

I don't have much money, should I buy the 86 devastator figures or buy the upcoming bruticus instead? I was originally going to get devastator but after seeing that back kibble I'm not so sure anymore...
