You can get the same buff by letting Lae'zel go first, and then passing a DC 30 Arcana check.

You don't really need to pass the first cpl checks to become awakened. You need to pass the last one. The first 3 checks are debuffs to int, wis, and con, if you fail them. Save your inspiration for the important roll.
