According to the Bible, Jesus generally discouraged people from engaging in pointless arguing and debating, preferring a focus on love, compassion, and seeking to understand others rather than winning arguments; this is particularly evident in verses like 2 Timothy 2:23-24, which states that a servant of the Lord should not be quarrelsome, but instead be kind and patient with others.

Sorry, guys and gals for I am new to both religions. Why is the words that are being shown as Sam speaks, why does it show the word ‘him’ and not as I believe it should be, and that is: Him. I know Jesus is God in the flesh, so maybe it’s because He is here on earth as Jesus in flesh and not in Heaven.

John 16:29-31 highlights the disciples' growing
understanding of Jesus as someone sent by God with divine knowledge, but it does not equate Jesus with God.
The disciples' declaration ("we believe that thou camest forth from God"') underscores their recognition of Jesus' prophetic role rather than attributing divinity to him.
Jesus' rhetorical question hints at their incomplete faith, which will soon be tested during his trial and crucifixion.

John 16:25-28 contains part of Jesus’ farewell discourse to His disciples, where He clarifies His teachings and emphasizes His relationship with God the Father. Here’s the passage with analysis:

John 16:25-28 (KJV):

25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

Analysis and Key Themes:

1. Speaking in Proverbs (Verse 25):
• Jesus acknowledges that He has been teaching His disciples using parables and figurative language.
• He promises a time when He will explain things more clearly, particularly about the Father (God).

2. Direct Access to the Father (Verse 26):
• Jesus emphasizes that the disciples will pray directly to the Father in His (Jesus’) name.
• This shows that Jesus is not the ultimate recipient of prayers but a mediator through whom prayers are directed to God.

3. The Father’s Love (Verse 27):
• The Father loves the disciples because they love Jesus and believe in his mission.
• Jesus clarifies that His role is to guide people to the Father, reinforcing the distinction between Himself and God.

4. Coming and Returning (Verse 28):
• Jesus explains His mission: He was sent by the Father, entered the world, and will now return to the Father.
• This statement highlights Jesus as a servant of God, fulfilling a divine mission but not claiming equality with God.

Key Points for Discussion:

1. Jesus and the Father Are Distinct:
• Jesus consistently refers to God as the Father, not himself.
• His role is to teach about God and guide people to a direct relationship with the Father.

2. “Came out from God” (Verse 27):
• This phrase indicates Jesus’ divine mission but does not imply that he is God. Prophets and messengers are also described as “sent” by God.

3. Submission to God (Verse 28):
• Jesus clearly states, “I leave the world and go to the Father,” affirming his subservience to God and distinguishing himself from God.

4. The Role of Jesus as a Mediator:
• In Verse 26, Jesus specifies that the Father’s love is direct, not dependent on Jesus’ intercession, showing that God remains the ultimate focus.

Conclusion:

John 16:25-28 highlights Jesus’ role as a messenger who teaches about God (the Father) and bridges the gap between humanity and God. These verses emphasize the distinction between Jesus and God, with Jesus consistently directing people toward the Father. This passage does not suggest divinity for Jesus but reinforces his role as a servant fulfilling God’s mission.

Psalm 35:23-24 is part of a plea by David, asking God to intervene on his behalf against those who falsely accuse and attack him. Let’s look at the verses and their meaning:

Psalm 35:23-24 (KJV):

23 Stir up thyself, and awake to my judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord.
24 Judge me, O Lord my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.

Analysis of the Verses:
1. Verse 23: “My God and my Lord”
• David is calling upon God to actively intervene in his situation, asking Him to rise up in defense of justice.
• The titles “My God” (Elohai) and “My Lord” (Adonai) emphasize David’s submission to God as his ultimate authority and protector.
2. Verse 24: “Judge me, O Lord my God”
• David appeals to God’s righteousness to vindicate him. He trusts that God, as the ultimate judge, will bring justice and expose the falsehood of his enemies’ accusations.
• The plea is not for personal vengeance but for divine justice.

Context and Themes:
• Trust in God’s Justice: David’s prayer reflects complete reliance on God as the ultimate source of justice.
• A Call for Action: David asks God to “awake” and take action, showing his confidence in God’s power to deliver him.
• Vindication through Righteousness: David’s focus on God’s righteousness ensures that his request aligns with divine justice, not personal anger.

Relevance to Broader Discussions:
1. “My God and My Lord” in Context:
• Some Christians draw parallels between this phrase and John 20:28, where Thomas says, “My Lord and my God” to Jesus.
• However, in Psalm 35:23, the phrase is clearly directed to God (YHWH), the one David worships and trusts for justice.
2. Monotheistic Faith:
• The verse emphasizes the monotheistic nature of David’s faith, addressing God as the sole source of power and judgment.

Conclusion:

Psalm 35:23-24 is a plea for divine justice and protection against false accusers. It reflects David’s unwavering faith in God’s righteousness and his reliance on God’s intervention in times of distress. The use of “My God and My Lord” highlights David’s devotion to the one true God, underscoring monotheism and God’s ultimate authority.

Context in the Gospel of John:
• The Gospel consistently distinguishes between God and Jesus:
• John 17:3: Jesus prays to the Father, calling Him
"the only true God."
• John 20:17: Jesus says,
"I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God."

These verses show that Jesus Himself does not claim to be God but acknowledges God as separate from Him.

1. Jesus Does Not Affirm
Divinity:
• In John 20:27-28, Jesus
does not affirm or claim to be God in response to Thomas's exclamation.
Instead, He emphasizes belief in His resurrection.
2. Thomas's Faith in the Resurrection:
• The focus of the passage is on Thomas overcoming his doubt about the resurrection, not a declaration of Jesus' divine nature.

Acts 20:28 does not provide conclusive evidence for Jesus' divinity. Textual variations and alternative translations indicate that the verse may emphasize Jesus' sacrificial role as appointed by God, not equate Him with God Himself.
To argue that this verse definitively proves the divinity of Jesus requires theological assumptions not explicitly supported by the text.

Rubbish
Romans 9:5 is a verse often cited by Christian apologists, including Sam Shamoun and others, to support the idea that Jesus is God. Here’s the verse and a breakdown of how to understand and respond to it:

The Verse (Romans 9:5)

King James Version (KJV):
“Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.”

Key Christian Claim:

Some Christians interpret this verse to mean that Jesus is explicitly called “God” who is “over all” and “blessed forever.”

Key Points to Respond:

1. Ambiguity in the Greek Text

The original Greek text of Romans 9:5 can be punctuated in different ways, leading to different translations. Here’s an alternative rendering:
• ”…from them is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all. God be blessed forever. Amen.”
• This rendering separates Christ from the phrase “God blessed forever,” referring to God the Father, not Jesus.

This interpretation is supported by many scholars and translations, including the Revised Standard Version (RSV) and New Revised Standard Version (NRSV).

2. Context of Romans 9

Paul is discussing the privileges of the Israelites, including their ancestry and the coming of Christ “according to the flesh.” The phrase “according to the flesh” emphasizes Jesus’ humanity, not divinity.
• If Paul were trying to declare Jesus as God, it would be unusual for him to immediately emphasize His humanity.

3. Paul’s Theology Elsewhere

Paul consistently distinguishes Jesus from God throughout his writings:
• 1 Corinthians 8:6: “Yet for us there is one God, the Father… and one Lord, Jesus Christ.”
• 1 Timothy 2:5: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

These verses clearly separate God (the Father) from Jesus (the mediator or Lord).

4. Linguistic and Historical Analysis
• The phrase “God blessed forever” (theos eulogētos eis tous aiōnas) is a common doxology (praise of God) in Jewish tradition, used to glorify the Father, not Jesus.
• Translators who punctuate the verse to make Christ “God” impose their theological bias, as ancient manuscripts do not contain punctuation.

5. Alternative Christian Views

Some Christian scholars, including those who affirm Trinitarianism, agree that Romans 9:5 does not explicitly call Jesus “God.” Examples include scholars like James D. G. Dunn and C. K. Barrett, who argue that the verse is more naturally read as a praise to God, not a declaration of Christ’s divinity.

Conclusion

Romans 9:5 is not a definitive proof of Jesus’ divinity. The ambiguity of the text, the context of Paul’s writings, and his broader theology all point toward a more nuanced understanding. The verse is better read as a statement about Jesus’ human lineage and a doxology to God the Father

Islam preys on people who don't know scripture so they can act like an authority on knowing the bible. Once a person learns scripture you can't defend islam, it is just too outrageous, commonly known forgeries based on secular historians have determined that apocryphal gospels are false and not even from the same time period as the apostles, as well as having anonymous authors. Everything islam knows about Christianity is based on these apocryphal gospels, Muhammad (police be upon him) only knew someone's idea of Jesus, it is a shame but it is obvious the parallels between the infancy gospel and others like Legend of the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus, Protoevangelium of James, and even stories like the greek Alexander Romance. The more you see these folktales and legends end up as canon in the quran the more ridiculous it seems that people take it serious.

Easy proof Jesus Christ is God: I have A lot of them.

Isaiah 64:8 NIV
[8] Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

  Hebrews 1:5, 7-8, 10 NIV
[5] For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father”? Or again, “I will be his Father, and he will be my Son”?
[7] In speaking of the angels he says, “He makes his angels spirits, and his servants flames of fire.” [8] But about the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
[10] He also says, “In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.

John 10:11, 14, 30, 32 NIV
[11] “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
[14] “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—
[30] I and the Father are one.”
[32] but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”

Isaiah 45:5, 7-8, 11 NIV
[5] I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me,
[7] I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things. [8] “You heavens above, rain down my righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness flourish with it; I, the Lord, have created it.
[11] “This is what the Lord says— the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: Concerning things to come, do you question me about my children, or give me orders about the work of my hands?

Genesis 1:26 NIV
[26] Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

John 4:24, 26 NIV
[24] God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
[26] Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”
John 1:1 NIV
[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Psalm 73:25-28
25
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
26
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
27
Those who are far from you will perish;
you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.
28
But as for me, it is good to be near God.
I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge;
I will tell of all your deeds.

Done.

One of the most famous verses where Lord Krishna explicitly declares Himself as God is from the Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 9, Verse 11:

"Fools deride Me when I descend in the human form. They do not know My transcendental nature as the supreme Lord of all beings."
— Bhagavad Gita 9.11

However, the most direct and clear declaration of Krishna's divinity is found in Chapter 10, Verse 20:

"I am the Self, O Gudakesha, seated in the hearts of all creatures. I am the beginning, the middle and the end of all beings."
— Bhagavad Gita 10.20

In this verse, Krishna asserts that He is the Supreme Being, the essence within all living entities, and the ultimate cause of the universe's creation, maintenance, and dissolution.

Another powerful declaration can be found in Chapter 10, Verse 8:

"I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this, engage in My devotion and worship Me with all their hearts."
— Bhagavad Gita 10.8

Here, Krishna clearly identifies Himself as the source of everything, reinforcing His identity as the Supreme God.
