別に互換性あるのは良いんだけど、PS5に関しては家庭用ゲーム機としてはあまりにも高すぎるので個人的にPS5のソフト(またはDL版)だけ出来るPS5を出してその分少し安くしてほしい。そういう選択肢もあって良いと思うんよ。今回の新型でそれ少し期待したんだけど駄目でした笑。それとディスク派の人には申し訳ないけどPSPlus入ってればPS1～PS5のソフト大体は出来るからね…互換性あまりいらないっちゃいらない。でもPSPlusも最近値上げしたから次のPS6はやっぱちゃんと互換性はあった方がいいかもね。

This might be joke experiment but I'm sat here like Homelander in the cinema, watching this vid, thinking about how they could dare ignore the classics, every single time. On top of this, they constantly make the digital games in a way that prevents me carrying them over to new consoles, so every upgrade, we lose our library...

I don't have any of these problems on pc anymore. Keeping the library I been building since day 1, got emulators to play rare classics and keep my collection in the cover, can download free games to save hundreds and this allowed me to sell all recent console games without having to pay to carry them over.

Just so many advantages to consider

Very simply put... the PS1 and PS2 were built on the MIPS Instruction Set Architecture, the PS3 on PowerPC and the PS4 and PS5 on x86-64. The CPU architectures are fundamentally different, and the code written on those PS1,2 and 3 discs won't execute on a PS4 or PS5 CPU. This is also the reason why only the early 60GB PS3 could read PS1 and PS2 games, because those PS3's had the PS2 CPU integrated to the motherboard, whereas later models didn't cos Sony got rid of it. The only way to play old PS1-3 games on PS4 and 5 is if Sony can get the developers / publishers to port and re-compile the source code for x86-64.

Not allowing COMPLETE backwards compatibility by Sony was a major loss. Really sucks.
