Ah yes the future of shopping malls already a pinical achievement of the human race now envisioned as even better.

Thankfully that shopping concept is dead.

The grocery shopping in the future clip is very INEFFICIENT. I'm gonna dissect this like Adam Something (check out his content so you get what I mean) and point out every error.

1. Space

Clearly, each aisle space is way too small to actually hold anything. Most supermarkets have gigantic aisles so its easy to just leave the produce instead of restocking every day. This would cost tons of cash.

2. Cars

Clearly, vehicles are inefficient. Why would you get on a bus with other people going to the same place as you when you can get in your car and go to that same place which is very clearly within walking distance? What if you live right next to the store? What if you don't even have a car? How would you go shopping?

3. Improvements

Alright, so step 1 is to expand each aisle and put them perpendicular to each other to fit more produce, thus more customers, ergo, more PROFITS. Step 2. is to remove the vehicle from the equation entirely. Have people actually walk and to carry their items you can provide them with shopping cars or grocery baskets. The cash registers could be at the front so people can just buy their items and leave. And badabing-badaboom we have a SUPERMARKET.

That is a horrible idea borne of pure laziness. It solves no problem, has no benefit, and is in fact just worse in every way. You make the concept of a store cost exponentially more money and take up exponentially more space for no reason whatsoever just so you don't have to get out of your car. That's not futuristic, that is a dystopian hell of car dependent infrastructure taken to the extreme.

These videos make a great political and product placement vehicle.

That drive through Grocery Store is one of the worst ideas ever.

That shopping demo is ridiculous. Sealed gas chamber, check. Still requires a human to collect payment, check. Every lane requires copies of every product in the store, check. That animation is pretty good for 1970, I guess.

Making automobiles out of that material would negate the need for a body shop.

One issue I can find with future shopping is what if it’s all filled up. In a regular grocery store you can have hundreds of people there this one by the demo I see it’s around 20 at a time

Yeah, that concept about shopping in the future? Never happening. There’s a lot of tactics that I can’t imagine would transfer nicely over to those types of stores.

The future shopping is inefficient and not going to happen. Far more likely to be a VR shopping trip that then gets delivered.
