Key Colony Inn Restaurant - Marathon, Florida Keys

Saw you guys on the South Florida fishing channel. Like that you highlight the local businesses. We visit Naples every June, thinking that a road trip to Marathon could be in order for 2020. Keep up the good work.

Great Idea, also brings new light for people coming by.

This place is absolutely the bomb! food is spectacular!

Key colony beach is our favourite place so far to stay in the keys!! This place is on our plans to go next time!!

Great place all around. Never had lunch there but love to go there for dinner after a day on the water and we walk over! Love the videos please keep them coming.

I ate there by myself once when my wife was visiting her sister for two weeks in Bermuda. It was way back in the 1990s when the USA had a Naval Air Station there. I wrote her this and sent it to her FEDEX Next-Day in those pre-Email times.

Dearest Rachel, I missed sharing a meal with you at our restaurant, which was unusually fine. At a moment when I could no longer stand it and was particularly missing your company I reached for the place mat and wrote you this on the back:

It is not good to eat a fine meal alone.
Here in KCB is our special place, begun in the 1950s.
Through numerous owners and dreams,
Through storms, rains, Winters and wedding proposals it stands.
But where are you? Why am I having this abundant pleasure alone?
Is pleasure truly abundant when it isn't shared?

Why the Balvenie scotch by myself?
An empty chair unfilled with absence.
An empty seat, lonely & unused right now, but not usually.

Along comes the Sauvignon Blanc,
Perfect with local steamed clams in white wine.
No place mat or napkin across from me.
The empty chair an emblem of what I feel inside.

Yet filled I am with savory lentil soup
And another glass of Sauvignon Blanc
To go with grouper, shrimp and scallops
Sautéed in herbs and wine,
So savory and filling; yet I am unfulfilled.

There is the emptiness of your absence.
No one with whom to share this delight
Of candle light and soft ballad music;
Left with only the memory of your presence.
No exchange of pleasantry or profundity, or lists or concerns.

It’s an absence, silent, empty; yet I am filled
With food, longing, love and memory,
That one day we shall share a time of
Scotch, Sauvignon Blanc, lentil soup, grouper, shrimp and scallops too.
One day a longing can become a reality,
Because while this good moment is fine;
It is incomplete without you,
Like God has taken my soul.

Always stop for lunch at KCI on our way to Marathon. We will be there tomorrow!

Really enjoying Marathon!! So convenient to Key Largo and Key West!! Picked up a few real estate mags, just fell in love with our boat charter’s home!!! Would love a place near there!!!

Glad to see that it’s still there.
It was probably my favorite place to eat as they served very good food.
My favorite was Sicillian snapper, also referred to by the staff as pizza fish.
At one time they had a second restaurant up in Layton, called Little Italy.
But as i recall it was closed and the building torn down.

I used to live in key colony beach and one of my favorite places to eat was keys fisheries in marathon. You could feed the fish in the canal and enjoy fresh caught fish lobster or crab very delicious place
