Some people dont understand how much force you sometimes need if a baby is choking and you are doing the back thumps. Its so scary because you dont want to hurt the baby, but if its to save a life, its super necessary.

A fact happened a few weeks ago in Milan, here in Italy. A miracle save. A 5-year-old girl fell off her balcony on the fifth floor and a man who was randomly passing by caught her and saved her life.

I remember one time I was at a restaurant and someone began choking. My uncle, as well as a few off duty EMTs sprang in to help him. My uncle later told the guy (after his airway cleared) that he could also use the chair technique (where you thrust yourself into the back of a chair or table or something, also useful if you're choking and alone), as the guy was a little heftier than the average person.

My dad caught me falling rolling off the couch and broke his two in the process by dropping the coffee table leg on his toe.

IPV is terrible, often life threatening, traumatic and MUST be taken seriously. But don't discount other forms of DV. Child abuse, elder abuse, adult child abuse, sibling abuse... The list goes on. Know what resources exist in your community and how to contact them. You may save a life. Perhaps yours.

Lifting the dogs back legs will cause more damage, as bad as it sounds if the dog is truly attached and lot letting go chocking the dog is the only option with the leash or collar to decrease air to the attacking dog

you wanna know whats sad. there are alot of people that believe or will accuse people doing cpr as sexual harassments thats why many people look the other way when people are in danger

FOR DOG ATTACKS: Cut off their airways. Use a leash, a belt, anything to stop their breathing. Do NOT use your arm as your face will be too close to the dogs mouth.
Cutting off the dogs airways is the only way you can assure the dog will let go.

I love dogs but if one comes at me, I'm doing everything i can to kill that dog. Im sorry my safety is more important then your pet

Now so many months ago, I got bit by a dog and my mom sprung into action and immediately cleaned and then took me to the hospital, I got a shot, and a series of shots the next few weeks and have been rabies free since!

I've been saved twice in my childhood from drowning.

I was walking my two dogs, one a small pug, when I was charged by a pit bull. I yelled at it, but it kept coming. So, I kicked it in the head when it got close enough (while cursing), and a young woman came after me a few minutes later for cursing in front of her little sister and kicking her "friendly" dog. I've rarely been so taken aback. I'm sorry I cursed, but when she told me her uncle would teach me not to kick his dog, I was dumbfounded.

when I was 6 I choked on a penny, yes, a penny. As a 6 year old I loved chewing on things and I just decided to chew on some random penny I found while no one was watching. I ended up choking on it and nobody was around to help me so i patted myself repeatedly and it came out, luckily the penny wasn’t way back in my throat, that could’ve ended way worse😅.

I made a raccoon run into a tree saving my dog that was crazy. It was like 3:00 PM.

Me and my dog got attacked by a dog that was of lead I got my hand in the way and it got bit and I had two holes in my hand ended up in the hospital and had surgery to make sure it wasn’t infected or anything

I developed an allergy to hair bleach after I had covid.
I’ve never had an issue with it before, but now I get welts wherever it touches my skin and turn bright red from head to toe… and the breathing issue and dizziness isn’t great 😢😅

Keep your dog on a freaking leash. That’s why I carry everyday I’d be sorry to put your dog down but more than willing if it attacks anyone.

I had a really close friend whose three year old passed away from climbing up a chest of drawers like that, with a big old box tv on top of it and it crushed her. So heartbreaking thankfully those twins didn't get harmed.

So interesting that you immediately recommended the Heimlich Manoeuvre for choking! In all my first aid training in Australia, the first piece of advice is to NEVER perform the manoeuvre, and instead continue to firmly hit their back between their shoulder blades. I’m curious as to why our two countries have such differing opinions!

Lmao my mum said when I was a baby she put me on the sofa, where it was slightly indented, and went to the kitchen, and then all of a sudden she heard a thump. Apparently I fell. I was taken to the hospital and had MRI. Doctors said I was fine. My mum blamed the paranormal.
