Softubes Console 1 Fader In Logic Pro X & Protools - How does it work?

Thank you for this video. I got my Fader yesterday and tried it in Logic10.4.7.
Here is what I experienced:
- only the Play button works in the transport, right out of the box at least .
- The Faders do not natively control the faders in the Logic mixer (your video didn’t say they did, but I wanted to clarify for those wondering). It only controls the faders in the plug in as you demonstrated.
- The unit sounds beautiful and I’m definitely keeping it even though it’s not as natively integrated to Logic as I would have liked.

I’m very happy with the purchase.

Thanks for the video, very helpful. I had a Fader 1 reserved at Sweetwater, but cancelled it due to the lack of integration with Logic. Nice to see that it does work with it. Think there will be full integration with Logic in the future?

What about the built quality of the hardware and can you also control the faders of Pro Tools with that controller or only the console 1 software which was inserted as a plugin?

In ProTools, it's not working how you think it is.  
Avid hasn't given Softube full integration, which is what that popup you ignored was telling you.
It works, just not the way we all want it to, with full integration, like in Reaper, or Studio One, or now Ableton.
The Levels, Solos, Mutes are changing in the PLUGIN and Console 1 OSD, not the PT DAW Mixer. Just like the original Console 1.
But please do more videos on how you are using it!

Thanks for sharing your experience! I think it’s really unfortunate that Console Fader doesn’t actually control the Logic mixer, but only the Console plugin. I wouldn’t want to depend on a third party developer‘s software to be able to play back the volume, panorama and send levels and automation in my projects. If they go out of business, stop support for the product or can’t keep up with MacOS updates, all projects made with this are bricked.

Do you have a diagram and/or video showing how you built that cool stand for Console 1?

Yeah I use logic solely as my daw and full integration is was im looking for. Unfortunately I’ll have to pass on this as much as I’d love use it. It’s not fully supported with logic x just of yet.

so Is there support for the main faders in Pro Tools yet? I read it wasn't compatible?

Massive problem here is au plugins don’t allow feedback to the console one hence logics faders just stay static the whole project, only the internal faders of softube console and fader move when you’ve got about 50 -60 tracks you just get completely lost. I use studio one and have been tempted by the new logic but am put off until fader control and track selection can be accessed by touching the faders

The automation doesn’t work with protools

when I move my Softube faders I can hear the volume changes but the faders on my Logic screen aren't moving...Making this 500Eur machine I just bought ( as it said it supports AU I assumed there was Logic integration but there is almost none) totally useless to me.

Nice vid Thank you. Ive just received my fader 1 yesterday and all seems to work fine except for the 3 aux send. It's working fine on reaper. Havent tried on P Tools yet. If there's a trick that you know of, could you pls tell us. Cheers

This thing is absolutely driving me nuts! With more than ten tracks in Logic it hangs often, need to restart everything, including powering down Mac, unplug power from Console 1 Fader, plug everything back in. And then - sometimes - it works. Probability of it doing so is lower than 20%! How is that for a workflow. Softube support is amateurish to put it nicely.

Console 1 Fader is a total nightmare with Logic Pro X. I could somehow live with the missing track synchronization, but in several projects I got random ghost fader movements and mute button actions. Note that there was no automation recorded at all! Now that totally sucks when bouncing a project and you suddenly find out that tracks are missing due to random mutes. That, accompanied with UI quirks and non existing customer support made me let go of my Fader 1. I‘ve replaced it with a Behringer X-Touch which works out of the box with Logic. Still keeping my Console 1 though because that works great and it is stable.

The integration with logic isn’t softubes fault but this video might be giving users who use logic false hope because most of the integration features do not apply to au plugins unfortunately. If logic supported vsts I could see this video being useful maybe

So the Faders are Working for Mixing and Automation? The DAW Chart on Softubes Website says it wont work, but i just See it working here 😂

Just brought one, but this isn't fully integrate with Protools 2022.11.1 . Doesn't control the mixer and kind of a deal breaker. I don't know if I should keep it and pray for an update. Also British Class A isn't activating for me.

What a load of nonsense….C1 does not integrate with Protools. It’s disingenuous to suggest it does.
