His voice sounds like vin diesel
ОтветитьAm I the only one who would love to see a legit live action movie of this ?
ОтветитьTest
ОтветитьThe drag tentacles (remember that there's more than one) are a great addition to a game that's ALREADY full of MANY jump scares that can make ANYONE'S heart stop. 😵💫
ОтветитьLove the bit on layering, it's so true. When I run into tough problems while developing my own game, breaking things down into smaller more digestable pieces really helps.
ОтветитьСкофилд очень сильно боялся что не сможет повторить успех Dead Space и запаниковал на каком-то этапе разработки.
К большому сожалению, Скофилд не поверил в себя во время создания своего очередного шедевра. Обидно всё это 😢
The Callisto Protocol мог быть тем самым шедевром, но страх овладел Скофилдом.
Мир искусства именно так и работает - "если вы не верите в себя - уходи, ибо ничего хорошего из этого не выйдет."
How old’s glen schofield anyone? Mid 40s?
ОтветитьI expect Alan Wake 2 to have this kinda scariness. (Yes, Alan Wake 2 has nothing to do with Dead Space - just saying...)
ОтветитьI like this guy's enthusiasm. Great Game !
ОтветитьClose your eyes, Vin Diesel
ОтветитьI was scared Shipless playing it for the first time, 1,2 & 3. I didn't know what was going happen next and I thought just maybe I'd be okay.... then I backed up next to a vent lmao
ОтветитьDead space is a masterpiece
Ответитьabsolutely insane, sometimes i think we take for granted how difficult it is to make these games.
ОтветитьHearing that they took the sound of a train and made it scary is amazing. Really shows how creative you can get and how you can take things you see and hear every day and twist it to what you want in a new way.
Ответитьso overrated.... both the game and this guy's blabberings.
ОтветитьSpace is terrifying its self
ОтветитьLoved watching my friends sister play the resident evil games
ОтветитьAs someone who never played the original, I just finished the remake on Series X and was so impressed. Top 5 single player campaigns I’ve played and one of the best looking games ever on my 4k OLED. Can’t recommend it enough.
Ответитьdead space 2008 version is broken sadly :(
ОтветитьHe has created a master peace
Ответитьwonder if this guy worked on the remake
remove random crits
Got the remake recently and I don’t regret it . Personally think it’s a lot more scarier then resident evil to .
ОтветитьPlaying this game did scare me..I am honest...horrorify game I ever played on chapter 4.
ОтветитьI wish 343 would hire him for a Halo horror game.
ОтветитьThe remake was amazing, but it doesn’t beat the original!
ОтветитьInsane to think they were gonna make system shock 3 and RE4 made it into dead space.
ОтветитьI should be writing music for my upcoming shows, why am I watching this
ОтветитьI played dead space when I was 13, took me months to finish it because of how scary it was to move on to the next level.
ОтветитьMusic and sounds the foundation for setting and atmosphere it’s probably the most influential thing in creating. All the best video games have an amazing design and sound track for example. The best thing all music artists do is listen to a sound/beat before they can syncronize lyrics properly. So much magic. Such a g.o.a.t
ОтветитьConstant jump-scares are not that scary when they happen every 30 seconds. You get numb to them very quickly. Every time you turn your back, you get jumped. Every time you access a computer, you get jumped. Every time you defeat an enemy, you get jumped from behind. It's like playing poker with a person who always bluffs and you know they're bluffing every single time.
ОтветитьI remember how completely blown away I was by this game. As a survival horror enthusiast I had played many games in my days but nothing like this. From the atmosphere, to the necromorphs, to the holographic layouts it was such a fresh experience. This will forever go down as one of the classics in gaming history. What a gem 💎
ОтветитьCan't belueve that they ruined the remake, your original game is still one of the best horrorgames ever made
Ответитьthis guy is a genius. I hope dead space remake fixes everything
ОтветитьMan, a lot of work goes into making video games.
ОтветитьDead space games are great ...inspired by Event Horizon film.
ОтветитьJudging by how he talks in this video it seems Glen Scofields IQ dropped by 20 points between this game and Callisto.
ОтветитьDead Space 2 death scene compilations is what got me into dead space! The dismemberment is just so good!
ОтветитьIndeed there is a term for what he calls "layering". It's called "Agile" and was alredy becoming the industry standard at the time they were making the game. So either nobody on their team was following industry publications, or - more likely - they were and they just didn't notice that what they did was just subconsciously adopt Agile. Either way, what matters is that it works and it's the right way to go.
ОтветитьI love all 3 dead space games but 2 was just perfect
Ответитьglen schofield looks exactly how you'd expect the creator of dead space to look
ОтветитьMan this is ah great game to be honest you should work on Ah movie on da next year or soon cause man I seen the old school movie dead space lol it’s trash but it’s ah old school movie.
ОтветитьCut to Feb. 2023, it got a remake that is everything the original was and more
ОтветитьI love Dead Space 1 and 2 (no intention of playing the third one).
I feel like the remake misses out on a few things the original game had. The death scenes in the first game felt more like a treat, and during the orchestrated death scenes the scene would distort to a reddish filter. And you can see the deaths easier vs the remake where sometimes it’s too dark/hard to see what happens. And the original deaths kinda felt more vicious and, in some cases, disturbing (see the special Twitcher kill scene for a good example of this).
The sound design on both the remake and original is utterly insane. Up there with the most interestingly and terrifying soundscapes I’ve come across in my 20 years of gaming
ОтветитьDeveloping this game must have been as scary as playing it.
ОтветитьNow we know Glen isn't the horror genius we thought he was
Ответитьone of the most overlooked parts was Isaac not talking. I loved that and it really killed something when they gave him a set narrative later. I think the remake gives him dialogue. It's a shame honestly. His silence really added to the claustrophobic isolation of the situation.
ОтветитьIt’s a shame that he essentially did away with every aspect he claimed to love and prioritize in this video for Callisto Protocol.
Non of the cutscenes are interactive, the fighting and healing mechanics are clunky and take too long, every fight was repetitive and redundant. It’s really a shame. But that’s just my opinion.
This game is a masterpiece. Literally every single second of this game is horrifying. You can tell how much Glen loves games. It’s really cool to hear him mention some of the games that influenced him.
