Try this out! When we fight intrusive thoughts they stay longer. If we try to replace them, it takes a lot of work and they stay longer. And not to mention the amount of efforts that takes.
When we have intrusive thoughts we get scared of them because we think that it must say something about us.
But what if I told you thoughts don’t say anything about you? The fact that these thoughts are scary to you means that you’re not actually wanting them. They say nothing about you or who you are or your values!
When we learn to let them be, accept them as thoughts and go back to what we were doing over and over and over again, our brain gets bored with it and these thoughts tend to naturally decrease.
This takes time though, so don’t go into it with the intent of them going away. Go into it with the intent to remind yourself that thoughts are not facts

ОтветитьGuys it is actually working we all are having intrusive thought it means the thoughts are completely irrational and infact the opposite of the intrusive thought is the reality. When we truly understand this the anxiety that we get by these intrusive thoughts slowly fades away they can still be back after sometime but dont give af about them just dont mind them. We can have positive thought, negative thought and intrusive thought and it is very normal. The problem actually starts when we start to belive in these intrusive thoughts we just have to realise these thoughts are not real. I am having these thoughts from childhood when i turned 22 it struck so badly and i had to live with these anxiety caused by believing in intrusive thoughts for 3years and after 3years i automatically found the reality i still get anxious of these thoughts just dont mind them and just believe in reality and believe the fact that intrusive thoughts are not real.

ОтветитьI've had this debilitating disorder all my life and the anti depressant Sertraline helps me, but a tip that does help is when i have intrusive thoughts about those I love the most, I tell myself that that is the very reason it's about them because I love them so much and that's how the disorder works and distresses you, I also remind myself the reason I never have them about my dad is that, because he's a horrible person and because I don't love him in the same way, I don't get the intrusive thoughts about him. In other words, when you have a vile thought about the ones you love more than anything,it stands to reason it's because really, you love them so much. A bit of a mental way of putting two fingers up to OCD. Hope this kind of makes sense. I really feel for you all,I've despaired myself, but it can get more manageable, or better, so please never give up on trying to live a happy life. A peaceful mind to you all❤
ОтветитьMy brain already knows its intrusive... This was not helpful, but thanks for trying. I think the only thing that helps is to try and find something to replace that thought or takeup most of my mental space, that for me is staying busy and being around people.
