depends, if I dont need to save 2 seconds or am in a prop where I have to wait out the repair timer anyway, gear down. If I am a desperate little bitch who needs those 2 seconds and am willing to tempt fate for it, belly landing all the way in my jets.

Belly landing for props, unless I’m in one of those huge long-range bombers that like to flip over the second a wing tip catches the ground.
Belly landing for early jets, even if you get an airbrake.
Gear landing for higher-tier jets that get the drag chute, because that’s just as fast as a belly landing at that point.

I do sometimes like to see just how fast I can go and belly land without exploding. It’s usually around 400-500km/h, though I’ve done a couple at 600+. About turned my pants brown (I was in air RB, damn near used the whole airstrip and almost hit the trees at the end), but one of those things you can laugh about once you manage to un-pucker 😂

If you land without any damage, you can J out and respawn before repair/refuel is done, spawn back in, and it will be quicker

I thought belly landing was the only working option because the snail does not believe in wheel brakes.

I have to use gear, I am a MiG 21 enjoyer so I kind flip and roll when I belly land

I do a hybrid of these, start to retract gear right before I make contact, breaking it but also bracing my landing & slowing me down in the air, I don't do this in the Me 262 because of it's engines making perfectly good landing skids
