That’s the problem with law enforcement agencies. They allow bad cops to just resign and transfer to another agency. It’s time that someone other than police and union representatives investigate police complaints. More often than not cops are found to have not broken the law when the normal citizen would be prosecuted for lesser offenses and departments find no fault with their criminal behavior and their own policies and standards and make cops take a paid vacation paid training paid time off or simply loose a few hours of overtime for their actions. And prosecutors and judges routinely either flat refuse to charge cops for their crimes or let them off with lighter sentences and reduced charges so they can keep their job but prosecute citizens for the same crimes harshly and with prejudice. Cops are supposed to be held to a higher standard than the average citizen because they are supposed to uphold the law and can and do hold the power to end people’s lives because they took a job and got minimum training that is more focused on shooting writing traffic infractions and identifying and running names for possible warrants instead of being trained to uphold constitutional rights
