X-H2 is not just the highest resolution x-mount camera, it's the highest resolution APS-C camera to date.
About the new 56, yeah I think it deserves the "mark ii" moniker. Unlike the updated 10-24 which only has a new aperture mechanism and WR with identical optical performance, the new 56 is different enough from the OG to be a completely new lens.
The AF should be good enough, especially considering the OG was entirely adequate for its intended purposes.
So it focuses closer, looks better, doesn’t have the onion rings, has better contrast, has weather sealing, remains the SAME price and folks are complaining that they also didn’t upgrade to focus motor??
I can imagine being married to a person who complains like this……
Short, sweet and to the point, and Is that Pommy accent I am hearing?
ОтветитьHow about the focus speed comparison between the old and new lens
ОтветитьSo you are implying that it focuses just like the old one. Meaning that it doesn't focus that well in very important situations. Also, no mention on how well it does when filming, I hope it's not as bad as the old one.
ОтветитьIt’s an amazing lens but if you already have the 56, the 50 f2, the 50f1, the viltrox or other off brand ones, I really don’t see why you would buy this.
Unless you really want some amazing bokeh in the rain
Really the best person to buy this lens is a professional photographer that just switched to the fujifilm system.
ОтветитьHow does this compare to the Fuji gf110mm f2
ОтветитьSo the naming is like the 27mm F2.8 R and R WR, except this time it's actual improvements and not just an aperture ring.
I'm calling it now, knowing my luck, they'll release the 14mm F2.8 R WR next month seeing as I just bought a 14mm F2.8 R.
I have the old one since only 2 weeks ago , I feel shat on lol
ОтветитьThanks for the Review. Some great info there. Does the new one suffer from micro focus jitters when Auto focusing? This is annoying with older version also the screen would change slight brightness and it’s not a pretty sight when continuing focus.
ОтветитьThe biggest reason to upgrade is close up? Well you can get mcix 11 or 16 ring for 80$ and you are at even closer distance. Btw better contrast does not mean you will get better image. For some details in someone skin on the face is contrast last thing you are looking for.
ОтветитьThanks for this review. I own the original 56mm f/1.2 as well as the Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 lens and thus am on the fence.
ОтветитьMore toneh?
ОтветитьThe lack of LM motors is really a shame.
ОтветитьI wouldn't call cat eye bokeh an improvement, but to each his own.
ОтветитьProblem of upgrading to a 40 mp crop sensor is that all my exiting lenses would show weird artifacts on images. I can’t really afford to buy newer lenses like the 56mm 1.2 “wr” version to compliment the image quality of the new 40mp sensor camera. I think my x-pro3 will be my last camera from fujifilm if this is the way fujifilm is heading towards….that is, the higher mp cameras. 🙁
ОтветитьWhat the devil is this Bokey nonsense?
ОтветитьHave to agree with you re:AF. Jonas Rask said the new one's AF is leaps and bounds faster than the old one. I received mine yesterday and was shocked how slow the AF is...
ОтветитьCan you do a review comparing the new 56mm 1.2 to the 50mm 1.0?
ОтветитьHow's the DC motors perform on the new lens though? almost no video review actually shows how it compares to the old lens. Still noisy like before? Keep up with subject in AF-C?
ОтветитьI got the lens several days ago, to be honest I am not happy with it, the DC motor is way too noisy for any video work, and I found some weird auto focus bug, when focusing in the same area(usually happen in low contrast condition), horizontal shot can focus and vertical shot cannot, this is so annoying……
Ответитьsilly question, i know this is made for higher pixels, but does this work on a xt4?
ОтветитьInstead of paying $998 for the new 56 f1.2 get the 50mm f1.0 used for about the same price.
ОтветитьAnyone have an opinion on the Sigma 56 1.4 vs Fujifilm 56mm 1.2 WR?
Ответитьwould you recommend this lens for getting bokeh in online video conferences? or would you have a better suggestion for task only? My current understanding is that the lower the f value the better, but I feel like with this shallow of understanding I'll make a mistake with my purchasing decision.
Ответитьthank you for this. this is a huge upgrade from the old one..
Ответить英语说得超级棒哦!
ОтветитьHow does this lens stack up against the 50 f1.0?
ОтветитьGreat video and review. Do you think this is a good night time street photography lens?
Ответитьfilter size is 62 (old) and 67 (new), another difference.
ОтветитьFinally! i was trying to find out how to identify the difference. Thanks haha
ОтветитьYeah the difference is noticeable with a magnifying glass otherwise old one is winner for me (more compact, lighter and a lot cheaper now) :)
ОтветитьFor a $1000 lens, they really should have put a linear motor in. Even if it had to be a 1.4 to accommodate. I tried the new 56 and it focused worse than the original 56 on my X-S10. Very disappointing. 90 f2 it is!
ОтветитьWhere is my 18mm f2 r wr??
ОтветитьI like the old one better, I think it has more character and I like character what comes to photography. To me photography is not about aiming to have as clinical photos as possible. I've got the Fujinon XF 56mm f/1.2 R APD version that was manufactured in Japan. It probably has even more character, it's a beautiful lens and the build quality is superb! The only thing I miss is weather resistance that it lacks.
ОтветитьHi ZY and all...
after watching this video , i have some question..
Not sure if i will get a reply on this comment..
i am currently on Fuji Kit Lens 18-55mm
and i am ready to upgrade to a higher aperture
based on my pictures statistics , i usually either shoot at 18 or max out 55mm.
and some in between
So i am considering Fuji 18mm 1.4 WR as the current upgrade..
and a 56mm f1.2WR in the future
While keeping my kit lens...
Is the above better or i just get 16-55 f 2.8
it is quite a lot of stop differences and i only benefit if i zoom pass 18mm into 55mm.
because my current kit lens have 18mm in F2.8
thank you for any input
Great video thank you!
ОтветитьGlad I kept my original 56 1.2. I like the quality of the image better, as it’s not so clinical.
With the XT5 and using limit focus, it’s very fast! Save yourself a lot of money by keeping the one you have or get a used W version. Plus it’s a lot smaller in size for Street photography.
I like the bokeh from the older one. Has a vintage look to it.
ОтветитьI'm a bokeh sucker. that is why I'm a sucker of Onion Ring bokeh. If new one has eliminated it, it's a complete deal breaker for me.
I keep the old and good bye new.
Images on the old lens look better, more cinematic quality
ОтветитьThank you for this very informative yet concise video. Much appreciated.
Ответитьtoo good of a glass that they had to cut corners on the motor, I'd rather pay a bit more..
ОтветитьFor double the price… I’ll stick to my old one. I got it second hand for 70% lower than retail
ОтветитьThanks 🙏❤
ОтветитьBest review, great use of time.
ОтветитьI have the 18mm f1.4, 23mm f1.4, 33mm f1.4 and 56mm f1.2, and the 56 is absolutely stunning
