Today i found rtx 2080 super for $225 usd when just a year ago i was seeing gtx 1070 gpus sell for 300 usd

All of this video's captioning appears at the very beginning, but only for a few seconds. At first I was wondering if there was an accident during the video editing stage, but when I got to the end, I remembered what I saw on the screen in the beginning, and then I realized what happened - and realized there was no captioning beyond the first few seconds, as well as why.

I managed to buy a 2080ti for 300 but it's both not what i hoped for and the other prices were out of mind (italy)

My last gpu is an 3080 that will be my last gpu its simply to expensive. I gonna use it untill it dosent work anymore or the prices go down. But unfortunately some ppl will buy the expensive cards and set the prices.

I waited years to upgrade from my R9 390 until last year when a GTX1070 came up for £115 on ebay. It held me up until a few months ago when I bought a Asrock Intel Arc A770 for £325 new, with latest drivers they are on par with the 3060ti which is still £400 in a lot of places. I just got a GTX1080 for £120 o ebay for testing, I'd say this would be the go too card to hold you while you wait for the new GPU you want at the right price. You get 30 days to try it with ebay's guarantee.

It's true that you can usually get a good deal on a used card. But, I got ripped off on eBay twice earlier this year on a used GPU and motherboard from sellers with 99%+ positive feedback. I was able to get my money back because of eBay buyer protection. I have been building my own systems for many years, so I know that it wasn't me at fault for the part being DOA. Also, the time that I put into troubleshooting these parts before sending them back if I was reimbursed at $10 per hour would have been $1000. While I have gotten stellar deals in the past on eBay (and even bought two "for parts" cards that actually worked), after my recent bad experiences, I would rather buy new ones and have an actual warranty.

Another option is buying refurbished Quadro workstation cards cards. They have much better build quality, more VRAM and lower power consumption. They also run the latest RTX drivers.

I got my Strix 3070 with almost two years of warranty still last year for $400, it still works great, and I'm really happy with it. It even came with the box, and everything in it.
My wife is using my old 970 card, and I got that new many years ago.

Perhaps an alternative for those who want brand new cards these days is buying AMD. AMD isn't perfect and they are scumbags themselves, but at least right now they have many cards that offer more VRAM while performing the same or better than Nvidia when it comes to raster graphics, all for roughly $50 to $100 less than their equivalent Nvidia cards. Poorer ray tracing performance and generally higher power draw are probably the only two turn offs for AMD right now, but those things don't matter to everyone. Right now, the RX 6700 XT is pretty much the only sensible budget option for 1440p gaming, as Nvidia's 4060, 4060 Ti, and 3060 to 3070 Ti cards all have a mere 8 GB of VRAM, while the 6700 XT has 12 GB. It's even significantly faster than Intel's similarly-priced A770 16GB. If we buy AMD, then maybe that will encourage Nvidia to start cutting prices.

Us in South africa have a classified forum called Carbonite, where you can buy like any pc part you can imagine second hand, but from trustworthy sellers.

I want to upgrade from the 3060 to the ARC A770, all I really play is Minecraft Java Edition (with mods and shaders), stray and occasionally GTA 5. And I use Linux which is better than winblows.

I just, after years meaning to, updated my MacBookPro mid-2012 (macbookpro9,1) to Catalina and installed WIndows 10 through band camp. The machine has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1 GB. I’ve been able to play Diablo 4 on it just fine. This machine is 11 years old. It does stutter slightly when loading things, but it’s very playable and that’s kind of amazing. Also, I swear Windows 10 is running slightly smoother than MacOS Catalina on it. How about that. Felt I’d share.

managed to get a 4080 at 980$ cause it was open boxed but workss perfectly so I just got a perfectly fine 4080 for 980$ and it was an open box so i didn't give nvidia anymore money than the pervious person did

Got a new PC in 2019 and bought a placeholder GPU, the rx 580 for under $200. I waited until early 2023 to finally get a new card because the prices were insulting. I almost gave in several times but Im very glad I didnt. The RX 6800 is a great card and should last me for years to come. The value of the rx 6700 and 6800 is hard to beat!
