All these gen Z activists demanding diversity and inclusion have no clue what shows were about back in the day. The black family shows were top tier growing up and were easily the funniest and most heart felt shows that everyone watched.

First of all, so called "Reginald VelJohnson" wasn't his real name. There was nothing wrong with his actual birth name, Reginald Johnson. Most likely the change was made as the result of a greedy Studio or Business Manager, with perceived notions of greater recognition accompanied with monetary gains? In reality, it's also shows blatant disrespect for one's parents & their family heritage, just to possibly obtain (not earn) a greater buck?! The ONLY reason a name change should be done, is for a woman when she gets married. If a woman gets married and DOESN'T change her name, then she doesn't accept the sanctity of marriage.

I just think it's messed up that they didn't have Jamie the little girl they're just because she grew up to do p**n but that still doesn't matter because she was still a part of the show to.

It's sad they have resentment towards Jaleel White due to his annormous success on the show as Steve and Stephen. He seems so laid back and down to earth. I am glad that he got the popularity.

A reunion season would be great..now they would have material by bringing judy back, Laura and Steve having children, Eddie and i think it was Gretchen could get engaged

I'll never forget when Donovan McCrary went to my school at Oswalt elementary after his movie in the late 80s telling kids during lunch to kiss his Jordan's shoes for respect. I told him no and others said too do it. I flipped him off and told my friends he's bullying us. The custodian heard me and removed him from lunch. Biggest jerk ever and I prayed 🙏 for him. Since then I believe my prayer was answered. He changed. Crazy

I always loved Steve's "inventions". Poor Carl always got "backfired" by them.

I grew up with this show and I really miss it. It's a great show. I love every episode but my favorites characters are Laura Winslow&Steve Urkel! I really wish that I could have got to watch Laura&Steve's wedding and I'm sure that all the fans wish the same thing

I like how they just glossed over the actress who actually played Judy in the show. Jamie Foxworth who went on to do Porn under the name Crave.

I really liked this video, but I never really watched the show because I felt it was degrading to black people. The Steve Erkel and JJ Walker characters are a part of a subtle and enduring refrain of the goofy black man. Full House had funny characters, but they didn't need a goofy over-the-top character to make the show work.

This show is the best reason to have Hulu. 😂

Ok, so Netflix can bring back Full House....but we can't get Family Matters again?

Maybe...a 4 or 5 season run showing how Carl and Harriette(sp?) are now Grandparents. Steve and Laura became parents and none of their kids are like Steve. But, Eddie has gotten married and had kids...and one of his kids is JUST like Steve. Which creates a fun and unique bond between them.

Would be a great run for a few seasons....come on Netflix! You did Fuller House....you can do another Family Matters!!

The show wouldn’t have lasted as long as it did without Jaleel. He was the finishing touch. What an amazing show/cast. One of my favorite memories growing up in the 90s!

loved every episode, my favorite TGIF show and generally top 3 easily, growing up.

I think once one of the main characters of a show leaves, that's the cue to rap it up. You cannot just erase chemistry and I think eventually the show had to rap up regardless of the change. Family matters is a one of a kind family friendly show. Thanks People magazine for a great interview featuring this excellent cast of people and for the memories.
