I like the size of the Striker for kayak use. It gives me all the info I need without taking up much space. It doesn't need a giant battery either - also saving weight and space. Is recommend it.

ОтветитьPeople complaining about not getting a manual. Oh man!
ОтветитьI have been reasonably happy with the sonar -- Bass Pro mounted the transducer and hard mounted the sonar attachment for the display & it's worked fine. I guess it's hit or miss sometimes on how the unit is going to work.
ОтветитьI bought a 597 CI HD DI last year, and the damn thing hasen't worked since I had it, called Humminbird's so called customer service and they keep saying the transducer is mounted wrong, I have changed it several times only to have the unit work correcttly for a short time.. Now Humminbird will not respond to my E-mails... Bass Pro will get an ear full for this. MY SUGGESTION: DO NOT PURCHASE A HUMMINBIRD UNIT THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEM!
ОтветитьI agree with you jobu88. I bought a 597 model this year and paid over $600.00 for it. If I had read your post before I bought it, I would of went with a fish finder that did have a manual, screw Hummingbird. The manual I printed from the computer was 154 pages, I guess to damn much paper for Humingbird to afford. They won't get my business next time thats for sure.
ОтветитьI got a Downlook sonar last year. The 596 model. It's nice, but for Christ's sake, I paid over $500 for it --- do you think maybe Humminbird could throw in a printed manual??? No of course not they give you a pdf file that you can view on your computer. It would be nice to have the manual in the boat with you. Even if Humminbird charged an extra $8 how goddam hard is it to give the customer a manual?
