Farm emo….. it’s so special . ( prefer the older stuff)
ОтветитьNo mention of Johnny Cash? Wtf
ОтветитьU never mentioned Tracy Byrd and the song when the squirrel went berserk in the south righteous church
Ответить90's country is nothing more than Justin Bieber in a cowboy hat...
ОтветитьKeith Whitley - Don't Close Your Eyes and I'm No Stranger To The Rain.
ОтветитьWhat about patsy cline
ОтветитьI'd say Trace Atkins, Josh Turner, and Steven Curtis Chapman are the best when it comes to country and country-bluegrass
ОтветитьWillie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette. The 70's were ICONIC for country, and I don't even really like country that much. Mostly because the new stuff is so phony. "Stadium country" as Bo Burnham puts it. The 90's had some okay stuff. I remember my parents listening to Reba MacIntyre and Garth Brooks, but the start of fakey pop country was already brewing with Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks and it's been downhill ever since. The 90's was the decade authentic country died.
ОтветитьThe Dixie Chicks changed their name to The Chicks- cause the word Dixie is offensive but apparently Chicks is not.
ОтветитьAt least they didn’t try to defend the awful new stuff people call country. Also I agree about the Dixie chicks and Shania 😂
ОтветитьThe thing is that even bro country sounds like real country compared to the poppy stuff that came in after bro country.
ОтветитьThank God I'm a country boy who wrote that song? oh yeah, John Denver. Give the guy some credit. 👍
Ответить90's country is not what I consider country. For me traditional country is all there is. I would say the newest artists that I consider country would be Dwight Yoakum and Chris Stapleton. Some of my favorites are Conway Twitty, Merl Haggard, Charlie Pride, Jim Reeves, Jim Ed Brown and Helen Cornelius....😊
Ответить70's country for sure.
ОтветитьNo competition, Willie, Waylon, Chris, Charlie, Emmylou, Crystal, Hank, Charlie (Black lol), Merle, etc etc, no contest at all.
ОтветитьClint Black, Terri Clark, Deana Carter, Patty Loveless, Suzy Bogguss
ОтветитьI'm a Dolly fan singing and her in the movies when she came out in that white cowgirl outfit in Nine to Five my reaction was hog tie him Dolly and she did and on the internet she did a song with Cher , my other and how about playing choir girls with Queen Latifa , Dolly is a great singer and actress , Go Dolly !!!!!!
Ответить70's country is the best. (0's ain't bad, but 70's was much better.
ОтветитьJohnny Cash and Charlie Pride were two of the best.
Ответитьhonestly, we don't need to restrict this to the Country genre. All music was better in the 70's than it was in the 90's. There, I said it.
ОтветитьDavid Allen Coe sang the greatest country western song
ОтветитьThe dead stare on Faith Hill😊 I hear you Matt!
Ответить70's rule. 90's were fun but more Hollywood, fake , cookie cutter , reproduction type music.
ОтветитьWHAT?! how can you skip the decade of the country king: Hank Williams, and the country queen: Patsy Cline
ОтветитьI’m team 80’s, that was the Hank Jr decade.
ОтветитьThis is actually pretty tough. You could even apply this to rock. But in the end, I think you get the same winner for each. 70's is slightly better overall than the 90s. But they're better than everyone else combined.
Also, you really should of brought up Charlie Daniels. That guy wrote many of the other country stars hits. But the Devil Went Down to Ga is to this day the best written song of all time, in all genres, to me. And I'm not even that big of a country fan.
DAC is top in 70s, imo. Tim McGraw sang Don't Take the Girl in the 90s, there's your heart string song. C'mon y'all.
ОтветитьDeep cut Conway Twitty, most of George Jones, the crossover garbage like Alabama, Ronnie Millsap.... 70's country is painful.
ОтветитьMerle Hagard! 70’s without a doubt!
ОтветитьI'm on Team 70s. Just let me say Marty Robbins!
ОтветитьI think we can all agree that 2000s, 10s, 20s country is absolutely god-awful. Working on 30 years of bleh. Applies to all forms of entertainment.
ОтветитьThey're both cheesy and lame. Haven't ya'll ever heard of Skynard or Pantera or Johnny Cash or Waylon Jennings or Hank Williams or even Hayes Carll.
I swear, the more I get to know about you people the more I think ya'll are yankees.
Nineties! But I will take Dolly and George Straight across decades any day! Love you guys!
ОтветитьJust because it's sung with an accent doesn't mean it's country.
ОтветитьAlabama willie Nelson and George strait
ОтветитьHow did Dolly Parton's "Jolene" and CDB " The Devil went down to Georgia" not make it into this debate? Now those are both mic drops from the 70's.
ОтветитьTalkin about heartache, Dont Take the Girl, comon! 90s for the win
ОтветитьBoth are better than today's junk!
ОтветитьThe fact Dwight Yoakam wasn’t mentioned makes me wanna cry a lil bit
ОтветитьTwo words... Dale Watson.
ОтветитьLet's see: Rocky Mountain High & Country Roads are not only pop classic icons that made it long past the '70's and are the official state songs of their respective states; but have outlived anything modern post-'90's country
Ответить70s wins.
From the 90s, don't take the girl...
Gets me every time.
the 70's ....and Guy Clarke, and Jerry Jeff Walker, and Billy Joe Shaver......and Kris Kristofferson, and Hank Williams Jr....
Ответить70’s hands down. There is absolutely no comparison. This isn’t just my opinion but my daughter’s generation also. Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Waylon Jennings, Conway Twitty, Hank Williams Jr., George Jones, Merle Haggard, Reba McEntire, Charlie Pride, Barbara Mandrill, Ronnie Milsap, Johnny Paycheck, Tom T. Hall, John Denver, Glynn Campbell.
The 70’s was the greatest generation in music history. Not just the country genre.
Team 90s country
ОтветитьThe greatest country & western song ever recorded came out in 1959-El Paso by Marty Robbins. The ‘80’s gave us the greatest duet ever recorded-Islands In The Stream. The head bangers have their ‘Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll’ but those southern good ol’ boys have ‘Sex, Beer & Country & Western’
ОтветитьWhat ever happened to Calli??? They need to being her back she is hot!!!!!
ОтветитьCallie is adorable!!!
ОтветитьAs a child of the 90s, I will say the 70s is just the greatest decade for music in general, country or otherwise.
Ответить"Do you even know who Miley's Godmother is...?" Got him right there. Booyah! LOL
