Good video. Keep them coming. I'm in the same boat as you. Subbed!
ОтветитьYeah I wanna a tactic game. I like pretty much every tactic game, especially Kartia
ОтветитьSubbed for this
ОтветитьI just found the channel yesterday and decided to watch from the start today. I love tactics games and this looks like a great insight into what goes into making one.
ОтветитьYes I'm in you're exactly boat, well you probably have a better idea of data structures and such, but I'm here for it
Ответитьreally cool series. i'm excited about this. i'm playing with the idea of making a turn based strategy game myself. Currently at the "figure out if it's fun" stage. I'm looking forward to following along with your progress.
ОтветитьDevlogs are such a worthless type of video. It helps nobody, waste of time, they don't even get any traction.
There are some people who use them as tutorials but it's so rare.
Working on tactic game my self, I really like it how you break it down. I have a better way to approach it now, thank you.
Ответитьwonderful video
ОтветитьI'm about to start making a 2d srpg like this aswell, its gonna be challenging but super rewarding, look forward to watching your journey mate
ОтветитьI love tactic games too~ cheers!
ОтветитьHeya, don't worry, I don't have a plan too lol
ОтветитьVery cool!! Making a tactics game is quite the challenge! I'll definitively will take ideas from your stuff too! looking forward to more videos!
ОтветитьFFTA2 is still probably one of my top 10 games of all time. Mad respect man.
ОтветитьThe game look like so much fun. Hope I get to play the finished version one day! Keep up the great work you just earned yourself a sub
ОтветитьBruh what are you even doing. You absolute wizard of a person. I literally clicked subscribe after the first 20 seconds. What are you doing man...
Jokes aside, found this on reddit. This is GOLD!
Time? what's this time thing you're on about? where do I get some?
Haha. Cool devlog mate! I'm all for getting in early at the very bare bones. Showin us what ya do from scratch. +1S
Love your video style. For a prototype system, I would hardcode everything, work out if it's fun and then work out where config needs to be after. By putting things into JSON, you're forcing yourself to build and engine around that JSON and translate it into classes. No-one but you will be making it, so I would just hard code that in whatever engine/language you're using. The load and translate JSON engine will hold you back as any new feature you add will need that JSON engine, JSON files etc to change along with the game engine.
I'd work out what the minimum viable game is right now before you begin. Don't make that configurable, just make it work.
I hope that helps, have sub'd, will follow along. Good luck!
Very cool! I also want to make something similar, make prototypes and slowly build something modular, when I have more time. I'm basically waiting for the right game jam theme so I can fully dedicate myself to make my first very barebones prototype in a few days and get feedback.
ОтветитьCool game idea, I will look forward to more devlogs 😊
ОтветитьI like how you broke up the systems. Good stuff. Subscribed!
ОтветитьTactic games are fun! Using Json to determine character types seems like a cool way! I'd probably do something lame like public bools haha
ОтветитьLooks great! Hope you stick with it, you've clearly put a lot of effort into your video
