I am a Filipino and met my Canadian husband in Xiamen 25 years ago. We lived in Xiamen Nanjing and Shanghai from 1998-2010 and are now back in China (Shanghai Beijing Zhanjiang) since Nov last year (although we visited many times after leaving) I appreciate your content and you have articulated well our family's similar experiences. Cyrus that was an extraordinarily interesting episode of your show. I'm Chinese settled in Australia and in the same generation as your parents. While I'm 84 mentally I'm still a 28 year old as someone joked to me a cuppla years ago. The opportunities in my life were quite different from your's. My parents & ancestors were hurt by America & the West generally and I'm troubled by the appallingly bad relations between America & China today. I've share posted one or two of your clips to disabuse my readers on FB of destructive propaganda that emanate from our media biassed against China.

I am perhaps the most Westernised Chinese not to have visited China but speak four Chinese languages: Hakka (father), Hokkien (mother), Cantonese ( servants), Mandarin (school), & Malay (chauffeur). Born in the British Straits Settlement, Penang. Educated at a very English Public School (founded 1597), learnt Italian, Czech, studied Philosophy at King's College, London & was a teacher for 35 years in England. What a waste of time. it's true the majority of chinese students would eventually return, but i would say it's more bc of the stupid H1B work visa lottery and lengthy green card process for chinese citizens... it can take up to 10 years now if you sign up for that. basically like some modern slavery i'm not even exaggerating lol. i just quit cz there's just so much unfair (and absurd) work restriction during this process. if the immigration policy is nicer, i would assume 50% or more ppl won't consider going back to china at least for quite a long time.

Studied and worked in Canada for over 12 yrs and had numerous friends in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Ontario. Liked the diversity and friendly people there. However, the Trudeau govt. is just not behaving well.....

I first went to China in 86, I know Singapore is not your beat. However it is an important part of the 3 China. Singapore, Tiawan\ and and China. Hong Kong is excluded because so many years of British Rule will make you stupid. These people have a six thousand year old civilizton. And I think we have had civiliazions on earth for millions of years. We have grown up and made the planet untenable for humans and they we have started again.

Most mainland Chinese people (now I make that distinction versus people of Chinese decent born in foreign countries) cannot assimilate in other societies due to upbringing indoctrination. {Yes, a strong form of brainwashing). It is the reason why they had to leave US or Canada after their studies. They cannot see themselves fitting into those societies. Just plain common sense....

My opportunity for leaving my home country and go to China is... Because i'm tired from Politics and religion. I also have Japanese friends (I know that the CPC Hates China but i think only their gov) and i want to visit them frequently. But i can't live in Japan due to having to worry about politics/loneliness. I live in Israel, as you guys can figure out, a very corrupted religious country. I'm feeling like my rights are being excluded by religion. My country is becoming 3th world and a nasty kind of dictatorship because of netanyahu...

I've seen China's Achievements, and i was completly blown away. How a country like that, who made a peace deal with Saudi Arabia and Iran, Could be labled as so evil? How when their putting many thoughts on the people, China gets mocked around the world... I was disgusted. My heart kinda ached at this point. One of the type of people i hate the most are people who ridicule others success. For me it feels like "Your mocking my dream" kind of situation. But anyways, Seeing China advanced so much and cares about its people, I have a strong feeling that the PRC is the country i always dreamed of living in. Maybe it has restrictions. maybe it has censorship. Maybe they don't respect voting or freedom of speech. But that doesn't Change the fact that they're hard work and sweat pays off in the end. and i can be assured that they need to be proud of it. China has 5000 years of history. With many years of history comes great wisdom.

But of course, getting the Chinese passport isn't easy. In order to maintain a healthy life, it's what i'm going to do. i'll have to work hard. Just like the CPC and everyone who lives in China. it doesn't matter if my freedom is being taken away. Well being and a stable life beats "Freedom" For me. Thank you CPC. Thank you Chinese people. Canada, like all Western societies, is going downhill. With Third World immigration, the coddling of criminals instead of victims, and far left ideology, even Canada is no longer safe, it seems to me. Toronto used to be such a nice city, and now I am seeing the same kinds of horror stories coming out of there as in any US city.

My mom used to live in Vancouver and I used to live in Seattle, WA. We went to Vancouver and Richmond many times. The best dim-sum are in Richmond! Vancouver is a beautiful city and Canadians are friendly. Love your channel Cyrus! I now live in Florida! Lol
