Its BC and AD, the information and content today on the internet what can you believe anymore.

That’s still 100% false to think changing a few letters makes dating events politically and religiously neutral. It was Rome the empire that morphed into a religion Christianity that created that calendar. So just removing a few letters a using different ones is like a woman dying her hair. She may look different but she’s still a woman physically with a different appearance.

Sadly this video provides the misinformation that CE and BCE came up in the 20th century, because some people wouldn't like the religious nature of the terms BC/AD. Both, the century in wich CE allegedly came up and the reason for that, are wrong. 👎

The term was used first by astronomer Johannes Kepler in the 17th century in Latin as "aera vulgaris". Common era is an English translation of that, it was established in the same (17th) century.
The reason why this alternative to AD/BC came up originally is uncertain, but surely not because Kepler, a Christian, would try to erase Jesus, neither did the other early users of CE, who were also Christians.

It may be the case, that in the 20th century atheists made the term common era more common because they didn't like the religious nature of AD/BC, but saying the term CE would be a "new term" in the 20th century is plain wrong.

The thing is that if you get rid of AD and BC and use CE and BCE what is so special that the inbetween those two. What made CE AND BCE impactful throughouthistory that those two exsist at all? Second why take away the accomplishment of catholic scientific works creating the Gregorian calendar. They deserve the recognition of creating the most accurate calender in the world. It is like taking Sir Isaac Newton's accomplishment of discovering the law of universal gravitation, which describes how gravity works. Then naming my own name to his work just because i dont like him as a person( i know its super simplified). It is so disgusting people actually had the audacity to try to change it in my own opinion.
