The idea that a car roles over when cornering is quite terrifying. Most people can't drive. Ether bought their license or have done it loooong time ago, or recently acquired. There are so many factors that add up, which makes driving a car super unsafe even if you do everyrhing right.

Teslas slay this test. Because safety and engineering are job #1 at Tesla. Looking forward to the Cybertruck results.

Hit a deer is bad, hitting a moose is deadly. They are perfect height that when you hit them they come straight through the windshield and you die crushed by a moose carcass. Not a good way to go.

The car needs a lower center of gravity for better cornering

the newer "sportier" cars don't actually lose to the citroen because their suspension or theri stability is worse. Modern cars are just a loooot wider. If you see the video of the citroen, that car is barely more than half the coned lane width. Now if you compare that to a modern amg gt that also does the moose test with over 80kph, it barely fits in the lane. If you dont place it 100% straight, you knock over the cones.

I don't understand this. What cannot fail this test? The faster the car go, the harder to survive this test. No car can pass this test actually.

If a car failed the moose test, its handling definitely is NOT brilliant. Fun, maybe, but not objectively good.

Coincidence? I think not.

Easy solution if your going to fast to slow down or "swurve" safely. Don't be a fucking idiot and swurve the safest option for you and everyone else is to hit somthing that's infront of you.

Having just performed a moose test at 65 mph to dodge a Honda right next to us who suddenly decided to violently slam into our lane (by which I mean the side of our car), moose test will certainly account for a big proportion of our consideration for future cars. Oh by the way we have a Stelvio, which performed really well in moose test.

Strangely? No EXPECTED. The consumer wanted shit upright boxy crossovers and then started driving like idiots... tailgating, aggressive and impatient. Of course roll- overs are happening. This isn't rocket science.

This sounds like the Bechdel test of automotive safety. Sure, you're measuring SOMETHING, but is it a metric that relates to the actual safety of the automobile? Is the context realistic? Yes, swerving in an emergency isn't uncommon, but as mentioned that will be accompanied by slamming on the brakes 99% of instances, and that alters the results to the point that makes this test moot.

Understandable since SUVs are shit at everything except killing pedestrians.

The problem with the Moose test, is that they keep the speed trough the test. I've never kept the speed when coming up on moose running over the road 😅 As a Swede I can say the Moose test is as outdated as Blockbusters in murica

Sadly in the USA, People don't pay enough attention to the road these days for it to matter, that or they are stuck in bumper to bumper gridlock.

That's what a family car should be about. Safety, really cool to see the results. I honestly thought it would have been an M class BMW. I'd love to see a 4 wheel steering dodge stealth results ( if you can find one anywhere )
