Cure wounds is in basically all ways worse than throwing a healing potion. Throwing a healing potion is a ranged action that consumes an item. Cure wounds is a melee action that consumes a level one spell slot.
If you play a berserker you could even throw a healing potion as a bonus action.

WTF with all those retard videos doing build with a cheated trainer and testing on a fucking 1st place againts lvl 1 imp. At least play the dam game and test you shit on lvl 12 content. People want to earn money doing lazy stuff man and i fucking hate this.

I really like Bard, but I prefer Lore Bard because of the additional skill proficiencies. You can also add a lot of functionality with single-level dips into Cleric (I like Knowledge domain for the free Expertise) and Wizard (you can scribe scrolls for any level spell you have spell slots for... not just limited to what your Wizard levels would allow you). I used stat-boosting items like the Warped Headband and the DEX Gloves to make up for the multiple-attribute dependency. The result is someone who can buff/debuff/heal/tank/nuke... and pass almost every skill check in the game.

Debating 12 bard vs 2 paladin 10 bard vs 2 paladin 4 bard 6 wizard...

Played a bard like 3 times now, always interesting to see other ppls builds. Nice to see some more love for plant growth, important to note that it does not use concentration so can be used quite effectively with cloud of daggers because it keeps ppl in the aoe for longer. I really like hypnotic pattern as well as a large aoe cc, also glyph of warding is pretty strong. When I get to magical secrets I almost always go for mistystep and counterspell. Also a very strong high level spell bards get is planar binding, really good in late game for taking over enemy elementals.

How do you know which stat a spell scales with?

instead of sage, can I copy this but make the background Guild Artisan (Insight & Persuasion) or maybe Entertainer (acrobatics & Performance) I am new to this game and this will be my first build

Why not Half Elf subclass High Elf. Same cantrip, but you get Shield proficiency as well, since you are going Duelist and Duelist works with shields.

the extra point does in fact make a difference because you can boost both of your core stats up to the next level with a single asi and have more flexibility to choose a future feat or ASIs in the future.

nice build. mine is a more ranged nova and stealthy version of this. went with 2 fighter, 6 swords, 4 assassin. opens up with 9 crit sharpshooter attacks (10 if i dont use my bonus action to re-hide) with advantage via action surge, slashing flourish and assassinate. also didnt bother picking up spells reliant on cha so i can boost the 3 main save stats (dex, con, wis) and just picked spells like plant growth.

most enemies dont survive turn 1 on that build.

If you play as Party Face with Bard, go for Lightfoot Halfling as you cannot roll a "critical one" with it which eliminates random negative outcome in conversations.
I also highly suggest you go with 10 lvl Bard, 1 lvl cleric and 1 lvl wizard as you get access to all cantrips including "guidance" for conversations early on. The wizard basicallly lets you learn all spells through scrolls which really makes you the Jack of All trades.

sword bard 8/fighter 4 for me. action surge and jahiera haste spores on spores druid with armor of the sporekeeper I am a machine gun that can also convince bosses to kill themselves if the need arises. use heavy crossbow and archery stance. flourishing strike I can get 12 hits on enemies, usually going first due to alert on jah and max dex on bard. never get hit bc I am ranged and have 24 base AC, 28 AC if I use a flourish for the 4 ac boost. and gortash has a lit crossbow. Haven't found a yellow one, don't think there is a yellow crowbow. if you go sword instead of heavy crossbow, there is a sweet duellist sword that allows you to attack again with a bonus action, give you 2 reactions and allows you to use a reaction to add necrotic damage equal to your proficiency bonus. but no need for archery or heavy crossbow, so no need for fighter, and therefore no action surge.

Could you perhaps share a screenshot of the Illithid Powers you use for this build as well? Does it matter what you choose?
