F1 has already made this whole thing a farce. It's nothing to do with sporting competition - they're just concerned they can extract more money from the US without Andretti than the US centric profit they'd have left after paying out the additional costs to support an 11th team at all of the races. It's all about the money, and giving the middle finger to the FIA is just a cherry on top.
ОтветитьLets get 14 teams in 👍
ОтветитьDretti like a bad smell, he just won't go away
ОтветитьWho the hell cares about Andretti..... F1 does not need them. The field is fine as it is and Andretti would not bring anything to the sport... why would they.
ОтветитьUSA should have no say in F1 and the profit driven liberty media should never have gotten the rights to F1
ОтветитьAndretti needs to understand that no one gave much of a toss about him in 78 & they still don't.
He can cry in his soup as much as he wants.
I’m sorry to point it out, but Andretti wants to get for free what costs nearly a billion on the market. Of course FOM and the teams want him to buy in instead of just entering for free. That would set a benchmark for people like Stroll to sell some share of their team.
Andretti himself wants the same thing: get a free entry, make a team, maybe win some races and sell his share for billions.
Rank cowardice and greed is all F1 really has. Pretty soon, rather than being the pinnacle of motorsport, F1 is going to be about as prestigious as Toyota's "achievements" in beating itself to win Le Mans.
ОтветитьIt’s just greed and corruption by F1 and the teams. They don’t want their “cut of the pie” getting smaller.
ОтветитьJim Jordan is a dolt
ОтветитьI bet F1 didnt think that they were going to get this much grief after saying no.
Kind of embarrassing to be honest.
It's not like Andretti and GM is going to be a Williams or a Hass with shoestring budgets and floundering at the back. We need big racing teams to break through, not just trying to entice road manufacturers
It's shameful that Andretti are being prevented from joining - let them race!
ОтветитьThat's simple. Just ban F1 from US.
ОтветитьIt’s pretty obvious it’s going to be the second option: legal action. F1 think they’re invincible, but they’ll find out just how mortal they are once the lawyers get involved. Their reasoning is beyond flimsy and will be absolutely demolished in court.
ОтветитьGiven the literal cartel franchise models of most US professional sports , I can’t see how this argument flies, not to mention that Liberty will have its own congresspeople on its payroll 😂
Ответитьなんで拒否してるのかわからないんだよな、今までも、おそらくこれからもアンドレッティ以上の体制整えて出てくるチームないだろうに。
ОтветитьSo the 2026 project is solo with a manufacturer from the current grid, but 28 is with cadillac? I thought the selling point for allowing them to join was the GM partnership but without it feels just like half show? spicy stuff
ОтветитьI'm here for Racing. Who cares about this shit...
ОтветитьHow long until the rumours start that Newey is going to join them?
ОтветитьIf they would’ve chosen Porsche, instead of Cadillac, we would’ve seen Andretti in 2026.
ОтветитьI really do doubt those people who actually watched F1 likes “More the better” approach. More cars, for most of F1s history, just meant more back-markers and more “moving chicane” related problems. Back when we had 26 cars, Caterham/Lotus/Virgin teams collectively scored 1 point in their entire history and in 91, when there were 19 teams, 4 teams never scored a point and 11 teams were less than 5 points.
20 right now, is a good number.
On the other hand, I am strongly in favour of selling of Haas or Alpine to Andretti, especially Alpine.
How can you tape 10+ minutes video without mentioning shakedown by current teams for more "anti dilution" money?
ОтветитьMore cars , better racing and more places for drivers which means better viewing for us public which let’s face it if it wasn’t for us watching there’d be no F1 on tv
ОтветитьWhen I started watching F1 there were 26 cars on the grid. It then got to about 40 cars with pre-qualifying to get the top 26. This is all nonsense - the tracks can accommodate them, this is just like the Premier League - the top teams want to keep prize money for themselves and are threatened by anyone breaking the cartel.
ОтветитьLet’s be real here. The real fear is an American team with one of the world’s largest engine manufacturers and a history of winning in many other world class auto sports coming in and eventually kicking the European’s asses at their own game. It’s discrimination pure and simple. F1 wants NOTHING to do with a real American based team with American horsepower behind it.
ОтветитьJust let them in for gods sake
Ответитьthey don't want new competition.
ОтветитьSidenote, Andretti being on the outside lets them spend what they want on the car itself(minus the engine) prepping for 26/27.
would give them enough leadtime to see what works n what doesnt so at least the Aero package is rock solid.
Dont have to play by spending rules if you aint in yet right?
Let’s see how Jim Jordan would react if you insisted on creating a new NFL franchise out of thin air, and how “anti-competitive” American sports are. Andretti continue to embarrass themselves and confirm over and over again why F1 wants nothing to do with them.
ОтветитьPolitics telling private entitites what to do.
(FWIW no, we don't need more teams).
We could see changes of ownership of said teams.
But quali is already terrible as it is with 10 teams, having 2 drivers each.
We also don't need moar venues...
I stopped watching when you started quoting the dirtiest US politician Jim Jordan.
ОтветитьI am neither an expert in business nor sports politics, but I don't understand why F1 can't just say no. It's not like it's some sort of state run national league.
ОтветитьHAAS is like that patsy team that the Harlem Globetrotters used to take with them to play against. They are only there to lose.
Andretti might win, and that is a problem.
Just let them in!
ОтветитьFormula one media group is full of shit. There was enough space for 12 teams just 12 years ago and 11 teams were on the grid last fing year!
ОтветитьAndretti is fucked, Gym Jordan entered the fray.....
ОтветитьLiberty media has a major stake in f1 and for them to not atleast advocate slightly for Andretti is wild
ОтветитьExpand the grid? Just drop williams for being useless for what, well over a decade?
ОтветитьWhat is an example of an 11th team that F1 doesn’t deem “novice?”
ОтветитьNo doubt this is a mess. But ever since the FIA leadership changed it’s all been a mess. The FIA is at the centre of everything that is wrong with F1. And unfortunately Andretti seems to think getting all aggressive and Rambo like will get them in. It may. But the cost in terms of relationships and standing may be far greater than they imagine. It all actually needs a reset, starting with the FIA at senior levels ceasing the bully boy approach to what needs to be a sensible symbiotic relationship with FOM and getting back to basics; like sorting out the rubbish stewarding at every race.
ОтветитьF1 deserve such scrutiny.
ОтветитьF1 has created the "significant hurdle" by using the same power unit made by merc-oops, for 14-ahem 10 years. sorry, dont know what came over me there. how can you expect new teams to enter and grid shakeups to happen in the series if you dont actually change the formula every 5-7 years like happened for the last 6 decades? oh thats right they dont care they just want to make as much money possible at our expense like everyone else
ОтветитьImagine if F1 loses the American Market even after spending billions to get 3 races in the states💀💀
ОтветитьYes, because how dare we say “no” to an American…
ОтветитьI’m gonna go out on a limb and guess not much will change
Ответитьif people really believe that Andretti will back down for 2028 are delusinal, they wont back down for any reason.
ОтветитьI get the whole Andretti f1 discussion and the excitement that comes with it, but in truth, while we are talking about a big name in the history of Americans in F1, Andretti Autosport are the 3rd wheel in Indycar and are not obviously the top player at any top level Motorsport. I don’t even think they talk a good game!
That said, I’d be happy to see 1989 prequalifying, so if they turn up to a race weekend, let them run…
F1 wants american money, not american teams….
ОтветитьI would love to see F1 squirm in front of a US congressional hearing.
ОтветитьAs I said before, this will get serious when Andretti and/or the U.S. Govt. apply for and receive an injunction against any further F1 races being run in the U.S. due to anti-trust issues. Anything up until then is posturing and politics.
Ответить
