First off, we aren't a Democracy, but a Constitutional Republic. Secondly, I do fear for our level of intelligence. I'm love my country, and I'm not saying Americans are stupid, but a recent poll revealed that 35% of Americans under the age of 30 believe that color wasn't invented until after WWII. As an American I have two takeaways here.

(1) Half of these "stereotypes" are just really bizarre things I've never heard anyone else say about us lol. Not even offensive things, just totally bizarre.

(2) The other half of the stereotypes are generally things which western Europeans promote about America. Rudimentary insults like everyone is fat, stupid, doesn't know any world history, etc... So I guess we have you to thank for that, western Europeans... Imagine how public perception(and possibly, policy) in Russia could be different in relation to the US if all they heard about us wasn't negative stereotypes they learned from western Europeans that are half-truths at best and outright lies at worst. What an absolute shame. Makes me wonder if the same was true during the Cold War. Maybe there wouldn't have been a Cold War if Russians knew more truths about America than what they get dribbled to them from western Europeans.

Edit: Also I must add, the woman in the fur jacket... my god, Russia has some of the most beautiful women in the world!

It’s really sad that other countries have such a poor opinion of us, but you can’t blame them because Americans themselves are extremely self-loathing. We love hearing bad things about our own country and only believe the best of other places. I’ve traveled the world and most people have no clue what is going on there.
