I’ve smell 1000s perfumes but none replaced this one: Chanel No5 | Which one is the best?

This is the first video I’ve watched from you. I’m planning to buy my mom no 5 for her birthday and was trying to figure out the differences because she really loves the scent. You did a phenomenal job at explaining each one and giving them its own pedestal. Thank you so much!! 🤍

I love all of them except the Eau de Parfum. And I agree, from all the hundreds of fragrances I tested in my life, there's nothing like No 5. I wear the Eau de Toilette all year, l'Eau in warmer weather, Eau Premiere when I need more vanilla in my life and the pure parfum when I feel the need to smell this pure perfection on myself, in particular indoors.

What I learned that it I combined this with a matching scent, it complete my natural scent. Try the scent with Cloud Pink. I was spray cloud pink, first, give it a few mins then, Chanel number five, the cloud pink. Beautiful combination.

It's so wonderful to see someone talk lovingly and knowledgeably about the no 5 range. I adore them all, and even have the discontinued silicone based flanker Elixir Sensuel. Eau Premier is my signature scent, and it makes me so sad when everyone talks down on the range. Especially since they always think I smell good. 😒

I love Chanel Coco and Allure and can’t say I have smelled any I don’t like. Until yesterday, I have avoided No 5 due to all the negativity and comments that it is old. Got a sample yesterday and 1 spray I can still smell 12 hours later. Not sure how I feel about it yet. I definitely don’t hate it or I would have been trying to scrub it off. Your video has me anxious to continue experimenting with this and the variations!

I actually just purchased (blind buy) a bottle of Chanel N° 5 eau de parfum from Saks Fifth Ave yesterday and this scent has me confused lol. I like it, then I'm not so sure, then I'm back to liking it again, then wondering if it's worth the money, then back to yeah it's worth the money lol. I find the first sprays very harsh. After about 10-15 mins it's calmed down a bit. As time goes on it gets better but I feel every time I smell where I sprayed it, it smells different. Sometimes all I smell is powder and other times it's a strong musky powder and then very little powder with florals. I found it doesn't last more than 20-25 mins when applied to my skin. It lasts longer on my clothes and hair but it also smells different than the dry down on my skin. I prefer how it smells on my skin but again it fades way too quickly. It also gets to a point rather quickly that you won't smell it unless a breeze hits you or if you purposely smell where you sprayed which can have you spraying more and more because you think it's already worn off. I did the overnight test and sprayed myself an hour before bed and while I did still smell the fragrance when I woke up, it was VERY faint but I could still detect it. So how I felt about it overall: Can I see this fragrance on a woman in her 20's? Sure, I don't think age matters when it comes to scents. Wear what makes you happy! But I can see how some would consider this a fragrance for a mature woman. It's not giving bubbly, flirty, sugary or immature vibes. It's put together, sophisticated woman, old money vibes. Do I regret trying it? No. Will I use it until it's gone? Yes. Will I purchase it again? Probably not only because I just think it's a little too weak when it finally gets to the point where I like how it smells. Now I tried the eau de parfum, maybe if I try the more expensive parfum I would be happier with the results. I know there's an EDT but that is the weakest of them all so I would stay away from it.

How wonderful to see a review of No.5 by someone who has a complete understanding of the different incarnations of the scent. I have always had a little bit of a "love/hate" relationship with this scent. When I was young I felt it smelled "old " and a bit stuffy. Now that I am older, I feel that I have grown into the scent in a way I can't quite explain and that it suits me better in a classic and mature way. I love the newer and more modern versions as well. Love the video! I’ve been looking to get my next exclusifs bottle from Chanel but can’t decide which one! Which of the exclusifs is the closes match (or has a similar vibe) to no.5 but is not as aldehyde heavy as no.22? I tend to reach for the Premiere flanker the most out of the no.5 range and love 1957 for a daily wear (it just feels a little too cold in winter :)) I’m after something clean but super feminine and a little cosier than 1957

I have a bottle of Chanel No 5 Eau de Cologne given to me by my great-grandmother. Is this concentration the same as the original Eau de Parfum? I heard that the Cologne was replaced by the Parfum in the 1990's.

Yes yes yes! I am so glad that you come up with this video. A lot of people turn up their nose when it comes to No.5 without understanding that it has its own class. The thing is, a lot my coworker who does not wear perfume adores No.5 on me, unlike my perfume-user friends. I cant express enough how much i love No.5. My bottle has a backup bottle, my back up bottle has a back up bottle, my backup-backup bottle has a back up bottle. You get the idea. I'm crazy about No.5.

I have to try "Number 5 Eau première" i am sure that i will love it. The original is a little bit too classic and aldehyded for me. Don't know if we can say "aldehyded" in English. Sorry if i'm wrong. 😂🤍

Hello Dear Clemence, I went out yesterday wondering which perfume to wear among my huge collection ( you have got more perfumes than Boots I have been told hahahahah) anyway I choose Chanel Number 5 in Edp. Unfortunately there is absolutely no longevity on me although I sprayed it on my skin and clothes. The smell was gone 15 minutes later :( Maybe the perfume would last longer......I am so exciting to watch new videos from you :) Have a nice Sunday evening 😊 xxx

Thank you for standing up for Chanel No. 5. People want to banish it because it "smells like an old lady" which is so vulgar, ageist and close-minded. That's precisely why I like it. It's a romantic, vintage scent from another time. It smells like and elegant mid century lady. Like my beautiful, sophisticated grandmother.
