This is the noise my unit is makings when I turn it on heat. Yet it is still warming the house
ОтветитьThank you, that was the fix for my AC
ОтветитьMy blower works for ac but not furnace. It came on for a few minutes then stopped. I test the AC. Blower comes on. Switch to heat, blower won't turn on.
ОтветитьI head a dept that makes industrial heaters. The blower wheel is a very thin and lightweight. If you ever have to remove it be careful and do not drop it. It will warp the crap out of it. I would also recommend wearing gloves. Those things will cut you like a razor
ОтветитьHere's hoping! I just ordered the replacement capacitor from Amazon with next-day delivery for less than $8 with tax. Much better than a $300 service call and time off work to let the guy in.
ОтветитьWhen my a/c switches on I hear a VERY LOUD click/clunk before it starts up. When the a/c is off I can still hear a low buzzing sound. Do you think switching out the capacitor will fix both issues?
ОтветитьGreat video, very professional, thank you.
ОтветитьDear sir, ¿what if when system asks to run blower (as AC in summer) but it blows the fuse (round, screw-in type, 15Amp, slow blow, type S, Buss), please? If I disconnect the blower motor from the system, the relay (inside furnace) clicks on (to run said motor), AC outside runs, and fuse does not blow. It only burns the fuse when the motor is connected to the system. (Our furnace does not buzz this way, it just blows that fuse). (Please help, I'm stuck). ANY comments/helps are much appreciated. Thank you for your video(s).
ОтветитьThank you! This was exactly my problem and I was able to get the part locally for under $6.
ОтветитьWhat if you hear that same buzzing noise with no fan movement on the outside unit but not the furnace? I think we may be dealing with multiple issues at one time.
ОтветитьVery clear, detailed, and helpful guide. Thank you!
ОтветитьIf the ac blower cause humming it’s also cuase frozen your ac compressor line?
ОтветитьYou are so Right On ! Thank you guy, you are one of the rare one's. Have a great day, I will.
ОтветитьGod bless you sir. Came home to my girlfriend saying there is a buzzing and the AC wasn’t working, found this video and it immediately helped. I am in no means a HVAC technician, but a 7 year old could do this job. Super simple, unfortunately had to go a day with AC because I had to order the capacitor online since no local stores had them, but it came the next day and BAM, im a certified HVAC technician now😎 jk, but thank you very much, keep up the great advice❤️
ОтветитьDude!!!! THANK YOU!!! My capacitor finally failed today, did a search on YT, found your vid, picked up the part at a local ACE Hardware and had everything back up in running in no time. Took an extra hour to clean the fan/blades/intake/etc... Super quiet on start up and works great! Thanks again! 😎
ОтветитьGreat video. Just had this on a 12.5v capicitor measuring at 10. Fan would come on but unit would not really start. Hopefully the part I ordered should fix it.
ОтветитьThank You for your video. It was my problem, and my furnace and ac are working again. Do yourself a favor and keep an extra one on hand by the furnace for next time you need one. You will be glad you did !
ОтветитьThank you for this video! This totally helped me fix my issue. First the capacitor and then I had to replace the blower motor. Not too hard, just had to wait for the parts
ОтветитьThank you. Really, thank you
ОтветитьAC tech who was a “ friend “ changed outside condenser unit capacitor for about $130 with a “ friend “ discount. Afterwards I changed mine out myself and never used him again. Just did it again 2 days ago. It was blowing warm air the compressor wasn’t running. Replacing capacitor fixed my problem. Only it doesn’t get to set temperature of 78 degrees and only gets to 81 degrees during the very hot day here in San Antonio. But does get to 78 at night heat index 110 degrees during the day. I’m going to use coil cleaning spray can from Lowe’s see it that works. Filter been changed out. I cleaned outside condenser coil with water hose. Any other ideas?
ОтветитьIf I don’t have a capacitor on my air handler, what’s the next troubleshooting step? My fan motor makes the same noise
ОтветитьGreat idea, I also have a question I don’t to much air power , is possible that can be the problem??
ОтветитьMy motor spins freely so i changed the capacitor but im still getting the same result where the motor when turned on makes that same humming/buzzing sound and then gets stuck after like 10 seconds. What can be issue?
ОтветитьI checked, and I didn't find a capacitor for the furnace. The brand is Lennox, manufactured in 2018. I only saw two small boxes, and I believe one of them might be a transformer, but I'm not entirely sure. Could it be possible that I don't have a capacitor for the furnace?
ОтветитьMy blower goes on but it makes clike a knocking sound. The a/c was working fine and then the fan stopped.
I did notice a very dirty filter. Replaced filter and started it up again and still her a sound.
A/c works. Sounds as it the fan blower is out of balance a little???
If so any tips anyone?
Thanks
Does it need to hum that loud ?
ОтветитьJust fixed my 20 year old system that went down. Thank you. Cost us $10. Still replacing but we can survive the heat till the new one comes.
ОтветитьExcellent video.
Nice and simple.
Definitely the same noise! Thank you 🙏🏻
Can you use a start capacitor instead of a run capacitor if yes, how would you connect them?
ОтветитьWhat would make the system click on try to start them it don't start the heat a click again
ОтветитьThank you, this fixed it for me 😁
ОтветитьSo ig if its not the capacitor its the blower motor then
ОтветитьI bypassed the circuit board and the blower fan is going but when I turn ac on it turns off why?
ОтветитьMine motor is super hot.
I’m hoping it’s not my motor once I change that capacitor
My brand new fireplace makes a humming noise when I turn the blower motors on low-medium. The blower works but the noise doesn't seem right. What would you do? Thank you
ОтветитьThank you, very useful!
ОтветитьIs it ok to have this blower always running for circulation? I live in a very hot area all year. Can I / should I oil this fan motor?
ОтветитьGreat! Thank you! What state are you in?
ОтветитьThanks so much for this video. I just pulled my capacitor and it only shows 1.5µf on 10µf capacitor. Bought one at Grainger 5 minutes away from me for $5 and change. Hopefully this solves my issue.
Update: Yep, replaced and it's all back up and running.
I want to personally thank you for the video. It saved me at least $500 according to one of my HVAC friends. It took me 5 minutes to remove the capacitor and 3 minutes to install the new one. Everything working beautifully.
ОтветитьMine is doing this but the capacitor tests good. Now what?
ОтветитьMy AC is making the same noise from the blower motor area… but not on heat… the AC works but has the whining noise …. Do you think it’s the same problem
ОтветитьI just had a new blower motor & capacitor installed in my quiet running 2005 TempStar N8MPN100f14A1 that seized-up one evening a couple days ago - a surprise as it's under a service contract and supposedly had a good capacitor. The problem is the new motor is producing an annoying and constant drone that I surmise is harmonic modulation that varies from a fast to slow whining-like buzz. Please, advise, what is causing it and how do I fix it? The service call cost me $1000. Thanks, in advance for your assistance.
ОтветитьI changed the capacitor but still same issue. I don't think I'm skilled enough to replace the motor
ОтветитьGood day. Been following your channel. Very helpful 👍
Mine is 7.5MFD 370VAC.
Can I buy that 5.0uf 370 VAC to replace?
Thanks a lot.
Jason
Have you came across your furnace/ac’s blower not turning on at all along with no humming noise? Have a 3 year old arcoaire with this problem.
ОтветитьThis was exactly the sound mine had. The wheel does spin freely when I moved it manually but it was barely starting then stopping completely once flame started. I changed capacitor and blower and fan started right away spinning at full speed (yay!) but when I turned off thermostat it slowed down and stopped and now won’t start or hum at all. Flash code said open high limit switch before and after changing out capacitor. Now what 🫤 Motor, high limit switch or or control board???
ОтветитьMine has a consistent humming, I'm thinking its the transformer after seeing this.
Thanks for sharing!
Omg I replaced my 6 year old GE motor and capacitor that was making this same noise . 6 years later I think the China motor stopped working no noise test the capacitor and it's below threshold ....I think that was my problem from the start
ОтветитьThe problem I have is when the A/C is Idle it makes that noise it comes and goes, but the A/C runs fine. Why does it make that noise when it's idle?
