I need some assistance. I spent my entire first character's life building the HRE. I accomplished it at 107, I have 4 children of age, none disinherited, all of my dynasty. My character outlived his heir (Chad) but now my game says I have no heir and my game will be over when I die.

on my playthorugh on mother of us all archeivement i learned over vasall limit is the hardest thing to deal with. you cant leave it like that. because i lowers your troups about 60- 90 % what means that you are weak, what also means everyone will start independence factions again and again and again.

idk i did it with 2 womans. (diplomacy) and it went so easy. even after forming it. no problems at all for over 200 years

What you can do to fix your internal bordergore is to revoke absolutely every single vassal from every other vassal until you are the direct liege of everyone in your realm. From there you can grant everybody their rightful lands. This will generate quite a bit of tyranny, so ideally you'd revoke everyone before your succession and then grant them their vassals once you're playing your heir.

The Empire of Italia came into being during succession under partition succession law. Normally the title would have gone to your heir's sibling to more equally split the realm but because you only had one valid heir, both went to him.
