I’m sorry but why do people rely on meditation which is unproven hippy new wave junk science? Seems like any progress made in psychiatry is regressing when relying on such things. Serious question here. Also ketamine made these thoughts go away for almost a year. Has anyone else reported this?

Crazy how for years I thought I have some mental health issues that I might not have control over at some point. I did start meditating and getting enough sleep etc but time to time they still come to surface but since I never looked into it I never knew where it comes from. Good to know I'm not crazy and since it's not intruding my daily life and just comes forward in stressful times I can better understand and control it ❤

Being antisocial and psychopathic, having intrusive thoughts sucks as there's a real danger to just speaking one's mind: you WILL get arrested.

Can intrusive thoughts be different for people with Autism?

And does lack of sleep affect intrusive thoughts?

Intrusive thoughts for me seemed to have increase a lot when I started obsessing over my poor sleep patterns , waking up in the middle of the night trying to get back to sleep but intrusive thoughts keep me from getting a good nights rest , are you saying at he point of seeing these intrusive thoughts rather focus on my goals and dreams ... Identify , label these thoughts but pay them no attention ????

I really appreciate your life saving videos. They have carried me through a year and a half of long term illnesses that came after a respiratory virus, possibly Long Term Covid. I have had two episodes of intrusive thinking related to Synthroid overdose. The first one was 37 years ago. It crushed my spirit and I am yet devasted in the deepest part of me from it. The second one was during this current illness but ironically, the Endocrinologist increased the Synthroid recently. The interview is extremely helpful to me because I cannot forgive myself even though the two thoughts were absolutely intrusive for no apparent reason. I hate them. They are not me whatsoever. I felt mentally raped and it is so emotionally painful. I was totally fine before they overdosed me in 1990. No anxiety, depression, no Menierre's ear (the storm damaged my left ear). Just happy. I thank God for a wonderful career and two sons, two grandchildren. Nothing has been easy for me since 1990. Nothing regarding health. All of your videos are very very helpful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. God bless you.

Transgender? Really?
Transgender is an actual intrusive thought proven by biology.
No biologists believes in a third gender.

The intrusive thoughts I have now, came to my head after one meditation I did. Please, be smarter, because I'm so tired of them. They are not mine, they last for more than a year already, and they are obviously satanic.
People, be smarter, and do not do any meditations at all. You can relax differently. Be absolutely safe. Heaven bless you!

I feel like meditating is the thing to do to get rid of intrusive thoughts, if you do it consciously to the intrusive thoughts: you catch them and let them go.
It's not really about the result of clearing your mind, it's about the practice. It's when all the sh*t can come up to be let go of.
Doesn't mean it's easy

I had an aromatic experience that brought up an intrusive thought and it has been beyond scary and I have never had a thought like this in the 30 years that I have been alive. It’s uncomfortable and scary. I have been in therapy and have spoken about it. Is scary and worrisome. It’s relief to know that these thoughts come to attack what we love most and that’s exactly what’s happening for me. I catch them and do in fact label them as intrusive thoughts and that definitely helps. I was diagnosed with ptsd but I also believe that we have power over our minds to help change the relationship with it. Praying has helped me. This one tries to be sticky but I really have to push through it. I have never felt like this before. I have has some in the past but this is one I have faith I can push through. Life has been good to me and I pray god clears my mind and protects me and my family. As I only want to be a good mommy and live a happy life. One day at a time.

I just unsubscribed from 'Therapy in a nutshell'. Although I found some of it's content useful, I cant get past how it's 'creator' invalidates its veiwers by making light of serious symptoms & cognitive distortions. I have watched several "TIN' videos that it's 'creator' rolls her eyes orc flashes her blue ribbon smile at the most innappropriate times while discussing content. Maybe its just me, but i think its totally messed up.

Tolerate uncertainty is key to life. I guess where the "Let go & Let God" phrase came about. A desire to control causes tons of intrusive thoughts here, but definitely working on it all. Deep breath.

Try not to engage in the compulsive behaviour of trying to figure out why intrusive thoughts exist in the first place. This behaviour actually took me years to identify and it was a light bulb moment. The compulsion of looking for reasons fuel OCD. It’s also imperative in working with a practitioner who knows the condition inside out.

I appreciate that everyone’s different but regardless of the specific therapy treatment you participate in, please make sure that it involves exposure therapy.
Knowledge is everything and things do get better.
