Ok so my crossfader went bad I think because I left my numark pro dj3 side ways in ny closet for 2 weeks so I’m trying to get it it fix but for now just avoiding using it and managed to set up key on my keyboard to navigate left or right or middle. Love the intro. DJing is not a normal art form and less often is more. The most technically skilled DJ is nothing compared to the DJ that drops the right tracks at the right time and commands the crowd.

Tipp for DJ's. Dont buy the headphones if u wanna work really with it. Dj's workplace is extremly loud as long as u don't do a headphone party. Buy closed headphones not open. If u in the club It sucks if u hear everything through the headphones... It's loud enough already so closed is better for partys

I wish I could find someone who utilized the ddj-sx effects setup, which is way different than how rekordbox sets up their fx on controllers, always being a strip on the side of the mixer. Any leads would be great, just looking for techniques and setups

I have noticed, particularly in serato, the filters don't actually cover a high enough frequency range to reliably use them to bring tracks out, so if you try to filter out with a high pass, you're gonna end up with an annoying high frequency noise in the background, and if you use lp, its gonna have a bumping muffled bass.

To new djs in the comments, ive been really partial to using a program called mixxx over serato. Its free, wild considering i paid for serato 🙄. If youre coming to music production from any kind of computer programming/IT background youll get a kick out of the level of customizability on mixxx, as well as the fact that it can run on linux (less resource intensive than windows, will ensure consistent reliability at critical times). There are a lot of differences but the biggest are these;
Greater control over fx, you can bind parameters to move with the fx knob, and basically create all the fx serato makes you pay for.
The filters and eq levels on serato are hardware specific, youre limited by your choice of deck. In mixxx, they are not. You ger full kill on L, M and H, and on the filters, AND you can switch the filter out for a different effect if you want, and make it a different effect for each deck. Pretty neat.
Keyboard shortcuts; this is the big one for me, as it turns your laptop and ddj into a cohesive unit. Especially if you have a controller, where you need to press a button to switch between decks 1 and 3 and 2 and 4, and may only have two eqs on the built in mixer. I use my keyboard shortcuts to do what the controller cant; if im running a beat and bassline on 1 and 3 respectively, and i wanna filter out both, i can move the filter knob on deck 3, giving a smooth transition to the bassline, and at just the right moment cut the low frequency on the beat with the keyboard. Can move the loop around, apply fx to samples, use hotcues in samples, all kinds of shit. Run up to 64 samplers at once if thats your thing.
Highly recommend giving it a shot!

I dont like using too many efx on things, but when you do, PLEASE make sure that the volume of ANY effect is audibly correct. Time and time again I hear effects overpowering the mix and, if you're recording, creating massive peaks in the rendered waveform.

DDJ-200 doesn't have a separate level/depth knob. Is there another way to use it with the noise fx/filter knob?
